League Sites that allow dual weekly matchups? (1 Viewer)

Hey Shark Pool,

My long running league is looking to switch league management sites again. Last year we were with CBS (absolute rip off) and ran MFL the prior year (did everything needed but half the league hated the old school look). I know there are a ton of threads here about the different league management options but as we do dual weekly matchups (each team plays 2 heads ups a week vs different teams) some of the main stays don't allow for it (ESPN, Yahoo, etc).

So I'm calling on the collective wisdom of the Shark Pool hoping for help.

Does anyone know of sites, besides MFL, that allow dual matchups? And if so what's your experience with them?

TIA.

MFL allows double headers.

As for your league's misgivings with MFL's "old school look"...MFL really only looks old school if you don't have anyone in your league who can pimp the page out a little.

With very little work (in context--I'm saying no coding or anything, just someone who can use photoshop) and a solid league theme you can make a standard MFL page look pretty good. These are all leagues I'm in or have multiple leaguemates in:

Now I'm not saying they're perfect, but that's mostly just one guy with some photoshop chops and a few hours on his hands.

Thanks. I tried that 2 yrs ago when we were with MFL but no one had the skills. I even suggested we could pay someone to do it but that went over like a lead balloon. It's a bummer because I like the functionality MFL provides....

Another positive point about MFL and double-headers is the ease in which you can realign divisions even if you play an unbalanced schedule, i.e. play division teams more than others. There is an option to replace team A's schedule with team B's schedule so that you don't need to reenter the schedule after every realignment.

It's under commissioner setup in the Fantasy Schedule Setup grouping of options. The particular option is Rearrange Franchises in Fantasy Schedule.

I honestly always thought that the 'you can make MFL look pretty good argument' always ended up looking like MFL with stickers plastered on it. Yeah that's about what you'd expect in terms of limited customizability of a fantasy website, but it still looks pretty bad (no offense to your efforts). I really wish a better alternative would come by.

I believe Fantrax has this function but I don't know if it is still a manual process or they have automated the scheduling.

Out of all the reasons to use a site for a league, appearance has to be at the very bottom. I admit that I didn't think that MFL looked or felt that great the first time I saw it but after one year I found that it offers so much. Our league has 24 teams and does double headers and works smoothly. Who cares what it looks like as long as it functions well.

When you spend a lot of time at the site, appearance can start to creep up your rankings above the bottom. It's not at the top by any means, but it shouldn't be neglected like MFL has done for years and years.

Does CBS really look that good? Or ESPN? The key to them is the integration with the parent site but I don't think that the actual fantasy football site is that much better looking than a stock MFL site, and certainly not more than a site that has been modified. And I think that the MFL site is a lot easier to use because things seem to be where they should be, whereas I find myself checking out several menus on the other sites to find things that I'm looking for. And free agent pickups seem to take a few extra steps than they should. Add in CBS locking up fairly often and I'll go with MFL. The only real downside for me is the ability to drop and drag for lineups. But I'll deal with checking boxes if it will give me all of the customization options MFL has to offer.

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately a large portion of my league does not feel the same and my arguments fall on deaf ears. Hence the reason for the search....
