Leagues that reward most overall points...when does that become offici (1 Viewer)

Our league is head to head and the entrance fee money is divvied out to the champs, runners up, and semi finalists. However, the team with most overall points gets rewarded with the league's transaction money. ($2 per pickup).

We play a 13 week season. Should overall points be determined at the end of the regular season or extend into the playoffs?

There's really no "should." It's whatever your league decides, though ideally that would've been done before the season started, as opposed to now.

I'd personally vote for extending it through the playoffs, so that everyone still has something to play for.

It's a variable rule. I have it in the league I run and it's a regular season award, determined after week 13 results are official.

We do it for 16 weeks. Like IE said though, there is no right or wrong. We do it just to give teams that are out of it something to shoot for if they got unlucky in the schedule.

We have two separate scoring based rewards, one for the weekly high score which goes through the entire NFL schedule to keep everyone interested. We also total points which goes up until our playoffs start.

I like that set-up, even more this year since I am going to win total points.

i know this much for sure, it should be determined before the season starts.

We divvy up our transaction monies (collected through 17 weeks, yes we allow trading and waivers up to the start of week 17) between 14 regular season weekly high scores and the regular season total points winner.

Total transaction funds through 17 weeks / 15 shares.

Can they not set a line up? Most sites keep track of their score.

I had this very same question which I posed in another thread, so thanks for starting this. Looks like it is kind of 50/50, which is interesting to read. I would probably favor the scoring champ to be for the regular season only, but I see nothing wrong with continuing it throughout the league's playoffs. Just a personal preference.

Thanks again...very informative thread and I'll be eager to read more responses.
