Lee Evans (1 Viewer)

You just know he is going to break out one week, the problem is getting it right. I've quit trying to guess. He will have his breakout week on my bench.

Something tells me they take the "training wheels" off and let Edwards take a few more shots. With both starting CBs out for the Ravens, might as well start Evans.

Actually, Rolle might play:

Ravens | Rolle misses practice Friday (KFFL) Jamison Hensley and Don Markus, of the Baltimore Sun, report Baltimore Ravens CB Samari Rolle (illness) did not practice Friday, Oct. 19, but will play Week 7, according to head coach Brian Billick. Fri Oct 19 1:04:00 p.m. ET 2007
But he's been terrible all year anyway.

Just want to point out that Evans had 7 for 145 and a TD last year vs Balt.

Of course Losman was throwing him the ball then, so...

I'm choosing between Evans vs Ravans or M.Booker vs Pats. OUCH!. I'm searching the waivers for a hidden gem, but :towelwave: have Booker pencilled in for now.

If you have nothing but junk to choose from, why not roll with Evans again? You've come this far :scared:

Starting him over Santonio and B. Marshall only because I'm going up against the owner who dropped him two weeks ago.

I'm now starting him in 2 leagues. No McAllister and Reed takes chances...In one of those leagues I don't have any other options and the other I need a long score and I felt he has a better chance than ButterFinga Burleson

You guys suck. I had finally talked myself out of rolling the dice on Evans and going with Bernard Berrian (who at least produces something on a regular basis) instead. Then this thread gets the Evans spark going in my brain again. I better find something to keep me away from the computer for the next 13 minutes...

Ravens have allowed 1300 PaYd and 8 PaTD. Not as soft as some teams, but on the softer side of the NFL so far this year.

Mason:

The Bills are a little worse, alloweing 1450 PaYd and 9 PaTD. I'd go with Mason, due to his being targeted 12.5 times per game to Evans' 6 times per game.

Berrian:

Targeted 8.7 times per game. Griese is a vast improvement. Eagles allowed 1100 PaYd and 4 PaTD. If it's a close game, play Berrian. If you need a lot of help to win, play Evans.

I wouldn't call it a breakout game, but it's indicative of the future. Evans will be fine.

That sound you hear is owners rushing to pick him up in leagues where he was dropped.

Or the sigh of relief from owners who played him and got something out of him...

Bills WR Lee Evans caught five passes for 98 yards, including a 54-yard reception, during a Week 7 win over the Ravens. Evans came into the game with 12 receptions for 113 yards.

(Updated 10/21/2007).

FANTASY ANALYSIS

Evans nearly matched his season total in yards in just one game, but the good news is that Evans has totaled two of his best performances in the last three games -- the same time rookie Trent Edwards took over at QB for J.P. Losman. Evans is still not producing at the clip we would like, but it might come Week 8 against the Jets, who own one of the league's worst pass defense. Consider starting Evans in Fantasy leagues for Week 8.

:lmao:

He`s on the waiver wire...until tuesday :lmao:

That's fine if you have the first shot at him. The shark move was to grab him before today or risk losing him to someone with a higher waiver wire pick. :lmao:

Actually, the shark move was to grab him the second he hit the wire.

I snagged him in one league but couldn't bring myself to drop Bowe, Stallworth, Holt, Hines, or Galloway in my other league. I still don't know that I would do it today, but it's a moo point as he's been snagged.

Both those guys will outplay Evans today.
ok
Evans may have barely outscored Marshall (by 1 point in PPR leagues) but that doesn't change the fact that he shouldn't be starting ahead of either one of these players. Both those guys are top 20 WRs and unless Evans cracks the top-30 (he's currently #75 in my league) he should be waiver-wire fodder at best.Marshall & Holmes = every week startersEvans = bye week fill-in

Evans owners should have bailed a while ago to shore up the position or their season would be done by now. Anyone who is saying Evans should have been kept and benched don't have limited rosters impacted by bye weeks and the rash of major injuries this year. And hindsight is 20/20.

In dynasty leagues, nobody should have dropped him.In my 3 redrafts - I drafted him in one, but this is a huge league where there was no chance I'd drop him (Jeff Webb and other scrubs are rostered); I grabbed him off the WW in another where we have very limited rosters - 12 teams, 3 man benches; in the 3rd, you're right, rosters small enough that AJ was even dropped. FWIW, I'm quite competitive in each, season is far from done.

i held, and played him today, but i didnt have much of a choice. My entire keeper league team is full of busts/sell low candidates and i managed to scrap my way to a 3-3 and record (4-3 as long as vinatieri and northcut dont put up 14 pts tonight)

In a keeper, i couldnt give up on a guy like Evans, but man was this first month painful

My other WR's have been so mediocre (Wayne, Driver, Berrian, Cotchery) I've held on to Evans. Aside from Wayne, they're all spot starts. Evans will probably start for me next week v the Jets.

I dropped him in a salary cap league because I wouldn't have kept him for next year after the mandatory raise anyway (would put him over 10% of my cap), and this is a rebuilding year. (And most teams are so close to the salary cap that a trade was very unlikely.)I used his spot to pick up a future prospect for the minimum bid, so he'll be much cheaper to keep.ETA - that said, I may try to re-acquire him at a lower price than where I cut him.

I've got to drop someone this week and it looks like it's going to be Javon Walker since he might be out the rest of the season. I can pick from Lee Evans or Amani Toomer, just curious who you guys like in week 8. Thanks for any help.

Not that anyone cares about my team, but I picked Evans back up for less than half of his salary when I dropped him ($31 to $15 of a $400 cap).
