Lee Suggs (1 Viewer)

Its reasonably possible that Suggs could be cut depending on several factors....

Regardless of the probability of being cut, where would he land if he were cut loose (or anyone else for that matter)?

What teams are in need of a RB right now?

St. Louis - need backup to replace Faulk

Houston - need depth in case Davis is still hurt

Miami - need depth behind Brown

NO - if trade Bennet, need depth

Buf - could always use depth behind McGahee

Jax - might need numbers

Den - the home for wayard RBs

KC - could use more RB depth

I've got him in dynasty, and I'd love to see him go somewhere and be successful, but i just don't see it. The guy makes Fred Taylor look like an iron man.

that said, i still can't believe KC is going to go into the season with Dee Brown and Q-dog as backups, so i'd say there.

Please go to the Cowboys.

I  Lee Suggs.

Yes I know he's ALWAYS hurt, but if.....IF.....

Considering Suggs is going to win the CLE starting job, I'd sure like to know the "several reasons" he's going to be cut.

George Jefferson called and he said that you've done terrible things with his schtick and he wants it back.

hey it could happen! :) Seriously though, I thought I had read something a week or so ago that indicated a healthy Suggs was a threat to beat out Droughns. Could be RBBC though.

At the least, would still like to know of these reasons. I like Suggs as a late sleeper right now. Certainly that changes if he's on a new team.

 I'd really like to see that link. There are people battling for his backup spot but in no way is his starting job in danger. Injury/failed production/jail time will be the only way he can lose it. besides, even if Droughns DOES lose it I believe the pecking order will be Green, Harrison, Suggs (unless he's traded).

From what I understand, Suggs is the odd man out (which is why I posted this thread).

It seems that he will be battling with Harrison for the 3rd down back/goalline carries/backupRB role.......

Harrison is a better all around back, and is very well liked by the coaching staff (afterall, they did draft him).

So, I posted this thread to get everyones ideas on where Suggs could possibily play if traded/cut....

As far as Droughns....you'll have to post a link on that RBBC info as this is the first ive heard of it (although I hope you're right).

Ask and ye shall receive.
Job still belongs to Droughns

BEREA - A year ago, Lee Suggs was ahead of Reuben Droughns in the race to be the Browns’ No. 1 running back.

Coming off a 1,232-yard rushing year, Droughns heads for this weekend’s minicamp as the No. 1 guy, but Suggs is healthy and might apply some heat.

Droughns didn’t help himself with his recent arrest on domestic violence charges.

“If Lee comes back and lights it up,” General Manager Phil Savage recently said, “then that’s something we would talk about, but at this point ... what have you done for me lately? Reuben rushed for 1,200 yards, and Lee was injured some.

I wouldn't rule out GB. If the loser of Green/Davenport gets cut as the possibility has been written, that would leave one of them plus Gado and Herran. I think he'd be a good fit.

Let's see, one of the worst offenses/worst running teams in the league release their 4th string RB....my prediction is that he's an unsigned FA or gets signed as an injury replacement....

I agree with the fact that I think Suggs will be cut, but I'm not sure where the hatred comes from for this guy. He has usually performed when he has gotten the chance. Including 3 100 yard games at the end of the 2004 season for a terrible team. This will be only be the 4th year for Suggs in this league and he has proven talent similar to Kevin Jones ability in college. I think the fantasy world is sleeping on Suggs for dynasty leagues. With an injury to someone, and if he is given 20 carries a game, he could produce very well. The only reason I think the Browns will keep Willie Green over him is because of the injury history. Personally I like Suggs better than Michael Bennett, and there are reportedly a couple of teams trying to trade for him. Suggs could walk into a very nice situation if he is cut. Texans, Raiders, Rams, Chiefs all seems like places he could step in and be their number 2 right away, and than if the starter gets hurt in any of these places, I believe that Suggs would produce well.

If Michael Bennett and Lee Suggs (assuming both are healthy) end up with similar opportunities to contribute for an NFL team in September, I would take Suggs over Bennett in 10 out of 10 drafts.

 I'm still convinced with Suggs healthy that Droughns is no lock to be the starter.

He was a backup FB for a reason. And for a guy who didn't even get a chance to start until his 4th year in Denver, much less average only 4.5ypc (on the lower end by DEN RB standards), I'm not seeing how he has a rock solid job over a guy who simply hasn't had a healthy chance yet.

Given that chance, I see this job with Suggs' name written all over it. Green is the odd man out to me.

Droughns as short yardage, Suggs as the rest looks like a solid deal to me.

And I'm not sure where all the hate of Suggs is coming from other than he has had a couple unlucky injuries.

All signs point to Suggs being 100% heading into camp for the first time, and that to me is a dangerous situation when Droughns is being drafted as a surefire RB2.

For a guy that averaged just over 3 yards a carry, had no one hundred yard games, and zero touchdowns over the last 6 games of last year, Droughns seems to be getting too much love.

Droughns was close to 4 yards per carry on the year, but only had 2 touchdowns, and that is without the competition that he will have this year.

I think most talent scouts would say that Suggs has more talent than both Droughns and William Green, but it all comes down to the injury questions. I am a person who does not put broken bones in the typical injury prone category. Suggs injured himself on special teams last year when he broke his wrist. Suggs was ranked in the late twenties or early thirties for most of last preseason, he is a typical player that I think has been written off too early due to perception. I hope he gets a chance for significant carries in at least one game, because I don't think he would dissapoint.

he's usually healthy at the start of camp, he's just not healthy two days later. i agree the guy has some talent, but he just can't stay on the field. Suggs or Green will be cut IMHO.

Lee Suggs makes Chris Brown look like Iron Man.

When you're using the words "if he can stay healthy" to describe a guy, that should send up a big, red flag.
