Lendale White (1 Viewer)

if teams don't tender their RFA's do they become UFA. What date do teams have until to tender RFA's?

Any news on what the Titans plan for White is?

thanks

No, they don't become UFA's. If a player is restricted the team gets to match any offer

made on that player. Tendering a player raises their value and the team gets compensated

if the player signs with another team. L White could become a UFA next year if he resigns

with the Titans.

No clue on their plans for L White.

I heard they tendered him a double cheeseburger to stay away...
Lendale's gone, Heimerdinger isn't a fan and didn't draft him. The only reason he carried the load in 2007 was they had no one else. To Lendale's credit he played with a torn meniscus that year and didn't tell anyone. But he won't be a Titan in '10.

I was somewhat surprised to hear that San Diego wasn't going to make a play for him. Seems like it'd be good to get a veteran in to help whomever they draft. Then again, maybe they want to make sure it's the rookie's show.

Wonder what Schwartz thinks of him from his time in Tennessee -- that was before the motivated Lendale and the Lions may not want him, but I would think the Lions woudl at least give him a workout.

He may, in the end, by gone, but theres very, very little chance the Titans don't tender him at an original pick level. He's not a cancer, and hes shown he can be marginally effective in his role. He'll be fairly cheap. At worst, they'll keep him for a year. At best, the Titans deal him for a 5th-6th round pick.

is there a date they have to do this by? is it March 5?Franchise tagging was today, what about the rest of the guys that are RFA's that won't be franchised, when are their tenders due?

:bag: I for one am suprised White hasn't draw more interest (yet) - for three reasons:1) He is only 25 and only has just over 600 carries on him.2) He is only 2 season removed from 1k + 7 TD season and 1 season removed from a 15 TD season.3) He could likely be had relatively cheap.

3) He could likely be had relatively cheap. - ...he's also fat and soft. Kind of a cushy fellow

I just don't know how you can judge what LenDale can do after last season. He only carried the ball 60 times and didnt even get a carry in a couple of games. He had a 3.5 ypc average and he was mainly used in sort yardage situations. I would like to see him go to a team that would actually use him. If he does not fit into the Titans plans, thats fine let him go. Seems like a waste for them to use him like they do. CJ has proven he can take every carry, but if they want him to last past 28 years old, they need to split up his carries.

you are exactly right....over 400 touches last year, doesn't bode well for the future.

Correctomundo.....03/05 is "T" Day.

White update: The rumor mill has been cranking out destinations for running back LenDale White.

First, it was Seattle and his college coach, Pete Carroll. Then it was San Diego in a trade for cornerback Antonio Cromartie.

The Titans are expected to tender White, who can become a restricted free agent Friday.

"Basically, as I told him at the end of the season, last year was a redshirt year,'' Fisher said. "He was ready to play. We called on him in certain situations. … There should be more opportunities for him this year."

Chris Johnson will get the bulk of the carries, Fisher said, and "fortunately we have a backup who could start in LenDale and basically he has a fresh body.''

:lmao: was so hoping he would get traded to a team where he might have a chance to start - have him in several leagues and have not given up hope for him - now.....sigh

Maybe they are just building him for the trade....we will see how much they think about him with the tender he is given. If he is given a third round tender, someone might try to sign him. Even if they don't, would not be suprised if he is moved on draft day. Who knows?
