This will not affect the jets much, considering a) they didn't really use him to his strengths anyways, and b) we have shonn greene to play his role in teh running game, and looks like he should servicable. TJones will still carry the load. Not saying greene is leon calibur player, but they just didn't use leon properly anyways, so they won't be missing that dimension he brings, as he was not given the opportunity to bring it. As far as returns, we have capable players to fill into that role. Tough loss, but at the same time not really...How does this affect the Jets?Who will take over for Leon on kick returns? Will Greene steal a lot of touches? Will Thomas Jones get a larger workload?
Jeez....Shaun Ellis also left the game - Bart Scott, as well as ClowneyDwight Lowery is a return guy and could be good...Greene looked good in this game but, I'd guess TJ's workload goes up...Damn, It happens to teams every year and I guess it's the Jets turn for the injury bug.How does this affect the Jets?Who will take over for Leon on kick returns? Will Greene steal a lot of touches? Will Thomas Jones get a larger workload?
If you can grab Greene, or somebody of good value and need someone then yes. But if you can afford to wait, then wait. I'd say 99.9% chance he's done for this year IMO.http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4593843So does Washington belong on the waiver wire now in redraft leagues? Season ending?
Nope, not that I know of. Gonna check now.EDIT: Nope, final year of his rookie contract.Did he sign his long term contract extension yet? I hope so...

Me too.OUCH!!!not a Leon owner, but still wish him the best possible recovery. but the timing sure sucks regarding his career.
I actually think TJ is a better than average receiver. I don't see Woodhead as the answer, but it would be pretty cool to see that guy make an impact if he did get the call to varsity.njherdfan said:I feel very bad for Leon. The rumor that I'm hearing is that while Greene will certainly start seeing an increase in carries, they might move woodhead back to running back and have him as the 3rd down back, since Greene is an awful receiver, and Jones is nothing special as a pass-catcher.
TJ used to be a great asset in PPR leagues when he played for the Bears. He has proven that he can catch the ball. In his time in NY the team always had Leon as a better reciving alternative, so TJ never saw many opportunities. I would expect his targets to increase but his carries to remain flat with Greene picking up Leon's share.I actually think TJ is a better than average receiver. Woodhead is certainly capable of filling in on kick returns, so I think he'll see action there, but I agree that he is unlikely to take over 3rd down back duties.I actually think TJ is a better than average receiver. Considering they did that during the game, it would make sense.I think Thomas Jones only stays if he takes less moneynjherdfan said:I feel very bad for Leon. Are there any similar injuries to running backs to gauge this from a dynasty perspective? So does Washington belong on the waiver wire now in redraft leagues? Season ending?
