Leonard Weaver, anyone? (1 Viewer)

I'm not saying that Shaun Alexander will lose his job but this is two Seahawks games I've watched this season (via TV) and either the offensive line is that bad or he just doesn't have the skills anymore. With the way Alexander is (not) producing, I'd rather go with a WR2 as my FLEX than inserting him. Heck, I wouldn't even use him as my RB2 unless I had no other option.

Last night against the Saints matchup, I saw a RB that is more explosive and quicker than Shaun Alexander; Leonard Weaver. With the way Alexander has been performing in the last few weeks, would it be insane to believe that Weaver will be forming a bigger part of the Seattle offense? Perhaps we'll see a RBBC emerging with Holmgren's Seahawks?

I doubt Alexander is in danger of losing touches, but does anyone have a scouting report on Weaver?

I picked up Weaver in all 3 of my dynasty leagues earlier this year. There were a few homers pimping him this offseason/preseason. Peter King also had this bit back in his preseason team reports:
Even though Shaun Alexander looks fit and totally recovered from last year's broken bone in his foot, the injury last year served notice that it's always smart to have a capable backup to the Seahawks' star running back. Seattle seems to be falling love with a fullback/halfback combo guy named Leonard Weaver, a 6-foot, 242-pound backup who is getting more and more carries and impressing the coaches with those carries in training camp. This is just a guess, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Weaver take five or six of the short-yardage touchdowns away from Alexander this year. He obviously can block at that size, and he's a lot faster than his dimensions would indicate.

Interesting - maybe we shouldn't be overlooking this guy too much. Will the retirement of Strong, however, necessitate him serving in the FB role?

Wasn't he doing that last night? He was in on the obvious passing downs as the single back.

My guess is Weaver was in there in large part because SA can't catch with the cast on his hand, and Maurice Morris can't really pass protect.
