Leonhard Injury - Impact on Jets Defense vs NE? (1 Viewer)

It's tough to evaluate the Leonhard injury. Revis is always going to be scary to throw to, but how much does Leonhard's injury affect the Jets' ability to stop the pass?

Well, he played deep and was late on most passes anyway....but he was also the QB of the secondary. You might see a coverage mix-up or two, but I still think the CBs lock down the outside receivers. I like the slot receivers and TEs in this game.

I'll add that as a punt returner, he won't be missed.
you'll change your mind when the replacement fumbles a dangerous punt at the 12 yard line.JL wasn't an explosive returner, but he made all the tough catches. The perfect part-time punt returner.

Leonhard was the Jets second leading tackler and led the team in solos. During the first Pats/Jets game, one of the announcers pointed out that a lot of the Jets defense is predicated on the way they use him, allowing JL to freelance prior to the snap but always having him end up where he's supposed to be in the scheme which confused the opposing O-Line and QB. Leonhard's style seems to usually give Brady fits.

It's a HUGE loss to that defense.
