I'll take McCoy over Ingram any day of the week. Ingram's best season was last year in which he went 964 yards @ 4.3 ypc & 9 TD.McCoy or Alonso, Ingram, and Boling?
McCoy had 1319 yards @ 4.2 ypc & 5 TD in a "down year"
McCoy is also a much better pass catcher as well with 300 rec & 2300 yards over his career. Ingram has 53 rec & 238 yards
I'd rather them sign Iupati or Franklin to man the other OG spot. The focus now needs to be on improving this offensive line. They still have 14 million to play with so signing a top shelf OG shouldn't be an issue.
Having Kiko Alonso would've been nice but they are set at LB already with Brown & Bradham- both of which are just as young and proved last season they can play in a top-shelf run stopping defense. I have a feeling they will make a run at David Harris who has been with Rex a long time- he loves to have a "Player coach" type vet out there to give him that voice on the field.
Rex Ryan and Doug Whaley know that this team's quickest path to the playoffs is through an elite defense (which they already have) & a top 5 rushing attack. Even if the Bills still had their 1st (which wouldn't even matter looking at QB's), they were never going to get a QB that could carry this team into the playoffs. Whaley and Ryan know this so they went out and got an elite RB in McCoy who is in the prime of his career.
Right now, the only thing that matters in Buffalo is making the playoffs period. It has been 16 years now since they've made the playoffs- 1999 & The Music City Miracle. This fan base is dying to make it back to the playoffs & it just so happens they were purchased by one of their biggest fans, Terry Pagula who also happens to be a billionaire. Money is no issue for this team anymore. No more "cash to the cap" BS; loved Ralph but he wasn't exactly a big spender. Under Pagula, Whaley has a blank check to get this team to the playoffs. That's why they paid Ryan 27 million to come coach here.
I almost have to double check that since it's been so long since the Bills' have been able to say that: money is no option & they will spend whatever it takes to bring in the best players to win games. You could argue under Tom Donahoe that they were literally just a business venture to make money; every penny was counted & their success was measured in how much profit that balance sheet said at the end of the year. Terry Pagula could not care less how much money it takes. He is a multibillionaire who loves the team and will spend whatever it takes. If they happen to lose 10 million dollars due to McCoy's contract this season, Pagula doesn't care. He's said before at a Sabres PC (Which he also owns) that if he wants more money, he will just drill another well (Natural gas/fracking is where he made his money)
