LeSean McCoy Trims Down From 217 to 211 (1 Viewer)

I remember him being small at the combine and found this:

LeSean McCoy, Pittsburgh

Height: 5-10. Weight: 198.

Projected 40 Time: 4.44.

Combine 40 Time: DNP.

Benchx225: DNP. Vertical: . Broad: .

Projected Round (2009): 1-2.

2/21/09: This can't be good. Listed anywhere between 207-210, LeSean McCoy weighed in at 198. Though he reportedly has the flu, being under the 200-pound barrier can't be good for his draft stock. Neither can a hand measurement of 8 7/8.

He couldn't break a tackle or run consistently between the tackles @ 217 [weight questionable at best] so I'm not sure how this helps his chances on being the horse on that team. I think Weaver's a vastly superior in tackle option. Bell, who I imagine will take a bit of Weaver's work, probably will be as well until he limps off the field.

I'm pretty high on McCoy.
Very poor man's Reggie Bush. Some flash and dash but little substance to his runs. Doesn't finish well and is a poor inside runner. With Weaver, Bell and now potentially Charles Scott on the roster, he will likely never be the short yardage guy. That said, he seems to be a hard worker and wants to get better, has a great opportunity and Philly's offense is loaded with weapons to keep it moving. He is a good receiver out of the backfield which is huge in that offense. If I were to project, his stats will mirror about 60-70% of Westbrook's production, making him a RB3 in a standard format and a RB2 in PPR.

One thing about McCoy is that he is very young... 22 this July. He has some time to mature as a player and for his body to mature... so, while I am not crazy about him, I sure won't write him off until I see more this season.

211 is plenty big enough to play RB in the NFL and plenty big enough for McCoy so I'm not concerned at all.

Charles Scott landed in a decent situation to be one of those out-of-nowhere starters next year
I just really hope he makes the team. The guy runs like a bull!
He runs like a bull right into the line. Not impressed with him at all.
Russ Lande had him as a top-five RB in this year's draft.
What did he like about him? I watched a ton of LSU games, and I did not come away impressed at all. Maybe as a short yardage back.

Scott and McCoy could be good in the backfield.

Weaver needs to get the ball from the FB spot. It's a waste to put him at tailback.

McCoy is going to be expected to be Brian Westbrook. He is going to take all of Westbrooks touches. Add in some Mike Bell until he gets dinged up and use Scott. I am so happy they got Scott. I have no idea why he dropped tithe Sixth round.

Buckley might stick around. He looked good in preseason last year but it's only preseason.
