Let me hear about your 1st world problems (1 Viewer)

I am having to go to 2 different grocery stores to get the proteins I like to grill.
Just moved to a new house, and while I love the new house and the location, it puts me about 10 minutes away from my favorite grocery store. There are two others within 3-5 minutes, but I really hate them. They have every thing I need, but the good Kroger that I moved (10 minutes) away from was so wonderful. Wonderful, spacious parking. Wide aisles. Fantastic salad bar, decent/cheap sushi. Huge craft beer selection. Parking is so exceptional that you don't get multiple ########s parking in the loading zone "just to run in for a second" like they have at the closer stores. Closer stores have most everything I need, but the parking is awful and the aisles are just so damned cramped. A lot of #######s that just leave their damn cart blocking aisles too.

It's a tough situation. In theory, driving 10 minutes down the road is doable, but I have to go through a couple of stoplights that I really would rather avoid during the times I typically get a chance to shop.

Sam's is an extra 8 minutes away too, which doesn't help.

I am so pissed right now...have to clean up the kitchen after some late-night/drink-induced eating last night...it's just not fair I should have to start my day that way...

Had to cancel our trip to St. Thomas, 'cause wind. I was really looking forward to it. Really kinda bummed we're going to Hawaii.
We had to cancel our trip to St. Thomas also. It took a while to figure out an alternative because we couldn't decide between staying at the Ritz in Grand Cayman or the St. Regis in Kauai. We chose Grand Cayman because we could fly direct.

Currently in the middle of reading The Kite Runner, which is really kind of depressing me, so I'm not really in the mood to muse about first world problems.

I'm also in the middle of reading a Confederacy of Dunces, a lighthearted comedic romp, which further amplifies this roller coaster of emotions.

Simultaneously reading 2 highly-praised novels has me feeling emotionally confused!

Ok, I guess I do have a contribution then...

Had to decide whether or not to take free box seats to an MLB game yesterday. It was a tough call as the home team was the Indians and the winning streak just ended and we had already planned on going to ride my neighbor's Jet Ski's.

Today I have to decide if I want to start OBJ in Magic Football. Of course I am flying to Monday Night Football too and now have to decide if I am dropping by the office tonight or tomorrow morning. Either way I have to go in for a little bit as I was traveling most of last week as well.

Stay strong. Will be praying for you.

Had to go to a different pharmacy than normal. Called in a refill yesterday morning. Went to pick it up today and they hadn't filled it yet. Had to wait 3 minutes for it. Then got home and I found they only gave me a 30 day supply instead of a 90 day supply like normal.

Battery in my car keys is low, so the Bluetooth function is getting unreliable.  Last night I had to use an actual key to unlock the car door AND turn the car on.

My local golf course changes their range balls to the low-flight variety. That's some weak sauce BS.

My two dogs and wife stole all the covers last night so I had to walk to the second bedroom and get another cashmere blanket.

Ooooh pharmacy. You must be Canadian.

Cable guide shows Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... Yes!

But it's the dagnabbed Tim Burton abomination with Johnny Dep instead of Gene Wilder. Weekend ruined. Weekend ####### ruined.

Hmmmm, I've got a long list to write about, which I will tomorrow... from the beach... in Aruba... where I'll be without my kids for 6 days.

Think you misread the last piece of my post. In-laws are staying at my house for the week with the kids.

On another note very related to that topic; was at a birthday party yesterday, there was a lengthy conversation amongst a group of parents (all basically Ivy League grads) about how large a donation to ensure your kids get in to a certain university (mind you, all their kids are like 7-8 & under).

I'd like to hear their problems.

The cell phone parking lot at Oakland International is ridiculously tiny and I had to keep circling while my wife is taking her time getting off the plane/going pee/etc

Yeah. I stopped reading at Aruba.

And now I'm ultra deluxe jealous.

Last week I only got upgraded to first class on one leg of my trip to NY. The other flight I was only upgraded to premium.

Well, I can already tell you what their kids problems will be.

Them.

I work from home, this last Friday we had to do a live interview at a local coffee shop instead of a conference call. I actually had to do my hair, put on make up and not wear a robe to work. My commute was also 80 times longer than usual. It takes me about 30 seconds to get up, put on my robe, turn on the coffee pot and sit in chair. Friday,  I had 40 minutes round trip.

Oh boy...I have a bunch of these...

  1. My home automation system keeps missing the scene to turn off the landscape lights...I think it's because my internet is out.
  2. I don't have anywhere to park my son's power wheels
  3. I haven't driven my Porsche in 2 months because I always have to take my kid to pre-school on my way to work, and it doesn't have a back seat...
