Agreed. The floating mountain on a sunny day is pretty amazing. 

 
one of my favorite city views is in a town which allows no structure to be more than 4 stories high - Athens. unfortunately, it takes more than one picture to give a sense of what one can see from the Agora, the ancient marketplace. you've got the view up to the Parthenon, its sister acropolis, Lycabettus, beyond it and the sea at your back. plus, there's a restaurant on Lycabettus from which you can get this nightview of the Parthenon. add a nite's partying and down to Sounion for sunrise and you dont need to use your eyes for a while.
