Let's start a RB handcuff tier list (1 Viewer)

I was waiting for this thread. Based on the age/workload/injury concerns of their starters I've prioritized Hyde, Freeman, West, Grimes and Dunbar.

Look out for Cristine Michael in Seattle, he should have value even without a Lynch injury or regression.

But, I think the best one will be Terrance West. He looks pretty damn good in his preseason play, and I certainly don't trust Ben Tate to stay healthy all year. West might just get his chance to make Tate irrelevant if he gets a chance to start this season.

Tell me more about this Christian Mikel player. I've never heard of him.

Rainey has some value. He had one of the best running performances of 2013 according to PFF. Doug Martin hasn't been super healthy of late.

Martin had 1 shoulder injury. Considering him more prone to an injury than any other NFL player is silly.

Lol every rb in the league is a heath risk. Doug Martin has missed more games in 2 years than Chris Johnson has missed his entire career. Fluke or not Rainey is undervalued at this time. Imo.

I'd put Hyde near the top of the list. I think this is the year Father Time finally tracks down Frank. Knile Davis, Freeman, West...I still don't know what's going on in Seattle, so as much as I'd like to make a decision there, I have no idea who the next man up will be. Sankey should be up there, too. I almost feel as though they just want him to grab that starting role and take off with it, but he just hasn't put it together yet. Since we're not even through the preseason, that's fine, and I think he'll be the clear starter soon enough.

My favorite handcuff is Jeremy Hill. If Gio goes down, you are looking at a Top 10 guy. Even if Gio stays healthy, you are looking at a bye week/injury filler.

Can someone who has good knowledge of the teams list out the top 5-10 handcuff RBs (in priority order) now that we're a few weeks into the season?

Kniles and hill are probably top tier. Neither has any competition for carries if the starter goes down.

Davis-had over a hundred yards last week with Charles playing. Is a 25 touch guy with Charles down

Hill-scoring tds and getting his fair share of carries playing with gio. If gio goes down he is probably a top 5 guy

I'm going to say it again, keep an eye on Randle. Just in case this is an actual trend, Murray sprained his foot on 92 touches in 2012 and sprained his MCL on 115 touches in 2013. He's a tough dude and tends to play through injuries if possible, but he's currently sitting at the 108 mark and he's approached it very quickly. The offensive line is top notch and Randle has looked improved to me on his limited touches. If Murray were to go down you'd have a RB2 on your hands.

I think people are overlooking Ka'deem Carey as a handcuff to Forte. Not much behind Forte beyond Carey if Forte goes down, and Ka'Deem looks like he's got some skills.

Blount has looked really good on the limited number of carries he's been getting. If you are a Bell owner you should also have Blount.
