Let's Talk About Feet (1 Viewer)

I've been nursing a strained achilles for about 5 months now to no avail. Granted, I am not pampering it like Jonathan Stewart should be pampering his. But historically these are tough to deal with.

Hamstrings and groin pulls are common but I frankly can't think of key players who have had prolonged achilles problems. If this lingers I think Williams is exponentially more valuable.

What other players have had achilles problems and has that problem destroyed a season?

Giving this a needed bump.

While Fred Jackson's thumb is facinating (and particularly his manner of field departure), I'm thinking this achilles question may have a bit more impact on our fantasy seasons.

Anyone?

Good link but I don't think it is relevant to Stewart--he doesn't have a ruptured Achilles, but a strained one. Basically, the only treatment is rest--not surgery. How long? It varies. Given the proper rest it is not something that should derail his career, but there is a risk of coming back too soon and not resting it enough of making it worse by actually rupturing the Achilles. The fact that Stewart hasn't been practicing or playing preseason games is not necessarily proof that he won't be ready--because it is exactly what they should do. On the other hand, we won't know he is ready and fully healed until we see him in action--hence the unease. I think you have to bump Williams up but I still believe we will see a time share when Stewart comes that is similar to last season.
