They made some additions in the offseason. I was pretty high on them until Bentley went down. If the offense sputters that D is going to get awfully tired of trotting back out on the field after 3 and outs all game.....

the line will still be better than last year, as long as they can get some consistancy at center.this defense has a nice blend of experience and fresh legs. i think they'll suprise a lot of people this year.

Browns fan here who has watched both pre-season games.

1) Teddy Washington is a freak of nature. The guy can still bring it at 38 years of age. He totally solidifies the middle for the Browns D. If he can stay healthy, look for the run D to be much improved.

2) Wimbley and D'Qwell Jackson both look good. D'Qwell has been very active. Keep an eye on him. He may be a nice IDP player as he always seems to be around the ball. Wimbley has provided some much needed pass rush for the Browns. Great body control on the rush. 9 sacks easy this season.

3) McGinest has yet to play a down. When they get him and Baxter & McCutcheon back on the field, this defense will be very solid.
