Just got involved in a league where kick returners/punt returners are a starting position. You get .10 per kick and punt return yard. Who are the best out there?

Name your teams' guy

Here are some

Chris Carr Oak CB 1752 kickoff return yrds and 192 punt rtn yds

Dante Hall KC WR 1560 kickoff rtn yds and 281 punt rtn yds..1 td

Jerome Mathis 1542 kickoff rtn yds and 70 punt rtn yds ..2tds

Darren Sproles 1528 kickoff rtn yds and 108 punt rtn yds

Reggie Swinton 1456 kickoff rtn yds and 341 punt rtn yds

Wes Walker 1363 kickoff rtn yds and 390 punt rtn yds

PacMan Jones 1127 kickoff rtn yds and 272 punt rtn yds..1 td

Discuss and add? Who do you like for this year?

In my league you have to start a PR and a KR. I picked up Devin Hester in our rookie draft. The Bears D will force a lot of punts and Hester is a big play threat every time he touches the ball. I think he could easily end up as the best PR in the league this year.

My league also scores .1 pts per yard for these guys. The guy must be a RB or WR and take one of the 2 RB, 3 WR, or 1 RB/WR positions. How do you plan on drafting these guys if at all? Are any worth a draft pick or is it too risky? Last year none of the above were drafted, but they all ended up starting on someone's team.

Do you get points for the contributions they make on offense also?

Terrence McGee and possibly Darrent Williams

EDIT: Nevermind, I just realized you don't have IDPs, but then why do you have Carr and Pacman on your list?

If it's only offensive players, Dante Hall is probably the only one worth picking up, as he contributes from time to time on offense.

If they get points for what they do on offense also, I think id draft Steve Smith in the 1st round and start him as my PR. HUGE value there.

It is an IDP League.A KR/PR isn't a set starting position but RB,WRs, and CBs receive the scoring bonuses. I was assuming that since we start 4dbs, that I would look for a CB/S that handles both so not to waste a roster spot on a KR like Hall who wouldn't start for me at WR ever. I could see starting PacMan Jones or another starting DB for their KR/PR abilities

Bigreese, Help me understand this. As I understand it, every player gets 1 pt/10 yards for KR/PR in your league, in addition to whatever other stats they produce.

Last year, Dante Hall had a total of 2300/4 between his KR/PR and recieving.

Correct me if Im wrong, but wouldnt that make him a better WR than anyone(Moss, Owens, Fitz, etc) who doesnt return kicks or punts?

Their is 2 different leagues being discussed here. My league gives .05 per KR/PR yd and 6 pts per TD.Dante Hall finished last year with 200 pts as the 25th best WR ...I wasn't aware he finished so high until I just looked it up. That is ahead of Keyshawn,Moulds,Lee Evans, and Moose from last year

I guess I could see starting him as a number 3 WR

Seems like all the good KR/PR guys would be good #3/#4 WRs in your league.

I'm in a league where receiving and KR yards are both scored at 1/20

A guy like Hall finished #2 last year and three years ago. There were lots of weeks where my starting WR corps was Hall, Welker and Mathis. And I scored more WR points than anyone else in the league. I think it's really unbalanced, but they've set the league up that way again.

Here's the kicker (so to speak)...every year they laugh at me for drafting them in the middle rounds. Meanwhile I've grabbed 3RBs, a QB and a TE before I even look at WRs. Don't think that will happen this year, since at least some of them have seen the light.

Drummond makes a nice pick this year too.

Cross Sproles off the list. He's on IR this year. I think SD is going to go with Pinnock at KR but I don't think it has been confirmed.
