Lets Tier: (1 Viewer)

As the baseball season approaches, I have begun to tier my players and think it would be a great thread if we could come up with a consensus. We are never going to get everyone to agree on every player but this could turn out to be a nice cheat sheet as we all get ready for our drafts. We will do one at every position. I will monitor it and add/drop as people see fit.

Links to other positions:

Catcher

1st Base

2nd Base

SS

3rd Base

Starting Pitchers

Relief Pitchers

Consensus OF Tiers:

Tier 1:

Tier 2:

Tier 3:

Tier 4:

No way Melky is in a tier above Bay, Burrell, and Rowand.####udome should be in Tier 3.

Bruce and Rasmus should probably be in tier 4.

I also think Tier 1 should be divided between Sizemore and Markakis, but that's me.

Seems like OF value overall has really gone down in the past 5 years or so....

Still have decent depth, but the top tier OF production just doesn't seem to be as deep as it has been in the past

I really don't understand the Melky love?

He's at best a 4th OFer on most teams - a glorified Endy Chavez with a full time job because Damon can't handle CF anymore.

My thinking on any Yankee is that they will be in a position to score runs and add RBIs. Melky had a very nice stretch towards the end of the season consistently scoring 20 points and over in my points league. At 2 points per RBI and 1 per Run, I will take my chance that any Yankee can get me 10 points in one game.

I happen to think that Pence will be one of the best OFers in baseball this year. You may think he is no where near tier one, but call it a hunch. He had weeks of 30-40 points for 5 weeks in a row last year.

Bay and Burrell strike out way too much and Rowand has gone to a pitcher friendly park. Melky has a chance to score over 100 runs this year

Hes gonna be hitting at the bottom of the lineup. I seriously doubt it.

Yeah, Bay and Burrell will kill you in that strikeout category. :lmao:

At -2 points per strikeout they will. I had Burrell last year and he gave me a -6 game one day killing my shot at the week

That would explain some of your wacky rankings. I can't help you with a league that values guys like that. I guess that makes Ryan Howard waiver wire fodder, eh?

Thats what I was thinking.
Get him now before it's too late. If it isn't already in your league. Look what that kid did before his injury in July last year. He was a stud. Absolute stud.
Don't get me wrong, I like the kid. But a top tiered stud? In my book, you have to do it for more than half a season to get a promotion to the top tier.
I dont disagree whole heartedly but I have a great feeling on this guy and want to make sure that I target him. Thats why I put him in my top tier. What happens if he explodes this year and then he is top tier every other year. So I went one year early on him and make sure I reap the benefits. If he fails then he was no worse then V Wells was last year and I took him in round 3. Or Andruw Jones for that matter

Thats a big if.Top tiered players are the "can't miss" type guys.

I for one, am not inclined to waste a 3rd, 4th, or 5th round pick on a "might break out" player.

There is a time to take a chance, and the early rounds are not the right time.
