Le'Veon Bell chances against tough Baltimore run D (1 Viewer)

Le'V has been solid, though hardly spectacular, with a floor about about 10 pts ceiling of about 17 it seems. This is one of his tougher matchups - very touugh run D, though they could be vulnerable to passes out of the backfield. Even so, it seems a matchup to avoid, but some of us may not have great other options.

Seems there is a legit chance he gets under 10 fantasy points, possible less than that and not much chance of big upside, especially as Baltimore has given up what, one touchdown?

What are folks thoughts on him today?

I am going to differ. I am going to bench Bell this week in favor of......Ray Rice.

I think this is going to be a lower scoring affair with maybe 2 TDs being in the mix for each side and the game ultimately decided by FGs. I am betting the odds of a 3 yard Rice TD vs Bell seeing the endzone today are much higher. It is going to be a cold night and I think both Pitt TDs will be through the air (Brown and Miller are my calls)

I think Bell ends with 7-9 fantasy points, which may be all you need to get over the hump, but us guys swinging for the fences and needing a win to get in the playoffs, I personally have to take a risk with my keeper-Rice and hopefully a 17 point FF outing.

Just my .02

I'd go Vereen over Bell which is probably indicative of Bell going from a high #2 to mid level #2 sorta dropping a tier or two this week. I see a good chance of downside with not much chance for upside.

I won't turn this into a fdis, but my situation is in a 2 qb league with a low end qb with good upside and a lot of downside - but qbs score.

So as noted, this is looking like a 7-9 point day and unless a guy gets 3 or less points if you have another player (rice, Vereen, a ####ty qb) how much lower can they go than Bell this week?

Of course that means Bell with get two TDs...

Sitting Bell this week for Spiller.

Tough matchup as we all know and I expect a low scoring affair with no TD from Bell. BAL has allowed 1 rushing TD all year and Bell only has 2 TDs last 7 games as it is. True Bell did get 99 total yards against BAL before but in a PPR league that was just 10.9 points. If my hope is a repeat of 10.9 points that just isn't really a good thing.

Yeah Spiller is a risk to get me like 4 points but he also has the upside of 20. I'll take that chance.

You've basically voiced my concerns. I think I'm going another route than Bell this week in my PPR league. And with having Andre Brown ready to go against Washington...that basically cements my decision.

Hard decision for me too. He's my flex. Bell against a tough Raven D or Shorts matched up against Haden. Thoughts?

Well, looks like I certainly chose wrong. Wow. But now I'm concerned about his concussion for the Steelers' next game. :/

Let me start by saying I don't own Bell in any league. Having said that I can not believe they took that touchdown away from Bell tonight. Is that the most rediculous rule or what? I understand the helmet comming off stops the play. But to stop a play in mid motion is just completely idiotic, what the heck are they thinking. You have to allow the motion of the play to finish, he can't get up and run, no one can hit him, no advancing the ball in anyway all understandable. But to act as if the play can stop in mid motion just made me sick. They wonder why this sport is losing popularity and they are taking the life right out of the game. It is incredible to me how much that one stupid play bothered me but it just did, it's a brutal game to play and I get the safety aspect but they are destroying the game. I'll get off my soap box now but I hope someone in the NFL reads this and figures out what they are doing.

You are not the only one. Bell was not scoring TDs and the Ravens hardly let rbs sniff a TD and then... Boom.

Can't say I slept like a baby with him on my bench but shows you the kids talent. Hopefully he will be ok in short order but you'd have to think chances are slim for him to get through protocol by next week.

Absolutely agree, but maybe because i'm a Bell owner and that second TD would have been icing on the cake..

I agree with the premise that the rule that way sucks...but where do you get that the nfl is losing popularity?

Because people here keep claiming they are done with it? Yet they are back watching the very next game.

Well yes, but also saw a report on ESPN about it and not as many kids playing the game as well. Sorry no link.

You think less kids are playing because of the penalties the league is calling?

And not to do with people knowing more about the long term effects of playing the game?

You think former players that have said they don't want their kids playing is because of how the league calls penalties or cuts off a play like Bell's last night?

You never know. He has 10 days. Kenny stills didn't miss time after his scary concussion a couple of weeks ago

I'm hoping the few more days will help. If not then, I'm hopeful he makes it back for Week 15.
