Leverage TV show reboot (1 Viewer)

Leverage is probably my favorite TV show of all time. Not saying it's the best ever made, just I love the whole pulling a con style of thing, and loved the characters in it.

So, found out today it's being revived for Amazon's IMDb-TV free streaming service. No Timothy Hutton who has legal issues, but the rest of the cast is returning though Hardison's got another show filming at the same time that might impact his availability.  Noah Wyle coming in as a new character to take Hutton's place.  Dean Devlin is back as the producer for the show.

Thanks for the update, I also always liked that show.

Cool! I still like watching reruns occasionally, free for streaming on the same service IMDB.tv

Gina Bellman... 😍

Wouldn't say this was a favorite all time show, but I definitely enjoyed it and would watch a reboot. More of a guilty pleasure show as I also enjoy the con/heist type of thing.

I saw this the other day.  Always liked the cast and still watch several of the episodes now and again.

Curious to see how they bring back Gina Bellman's character since she ran off into the sunset to marry  Hutton's character at the end of the previous run.

Christian Kane was also in Librarians with Noah Wyle (Beth R had a guest spot in an ep too), so they should work well together.

I think it is the same production company that did Leverage and that did the Librarians that is headed up by Dean Devlin and now doing the reboot according to the interwebs.

Also curious how they will explain Hutton being away as well. They got divorced and don't talk? Just ignore mentioning him? Or could be really ballsy and reintroduce the alcoholism bit from the first 3 seasons and say he drank himself to death?

:goodposting:

Maybe Damien Moreau escaped prison in San Lorenzo and "took care of" Hutton's character......

I enjoyed the 8 episodes.  Wasn't as good as the original and I felt they didn't really get as into the cons as they used too.  But they handled Noah well and the transition from Hardison to his sister.  A lot of call backs and all their catch phrases which was good.  Am hoping they do another season.

I liked the pilot but have been a little disappointed with the other 3 episodes I watched. Not terrible, but it seemed like they lost their edge and it feels a little soap opera-ish.

Enjoyed the first half, looking forward to more in a few days. Especially since Hardison is supposed to be back more involved in the 2nd batch.

Do agree the cons seem to be taking more of a backseat in these episodes to over-arcing story and character beats though. Not a huge fan of the sister but given Hardison was unavailable it makes sense what they are doing.

Somehow totally missed that they were renewed and that the new season just started this past November 16th. New episodes drop every Wednesday on FreeVee - which is Amazon's free to watch streaming service (I guess they rebranded IMDB.tv at some point this past year)

The first 3 episodes of Leverage: Redemption S3 were released yesterday. I love the original and some of the episodes of s1-2 of Redemption but I am not sure they have much more they can do. The episodes were ok, some cool scenes and cons. They seem to also be playing the the "getting older, maturing" aspects since some of the team is older. I will watch them all as they come out, hoping they are fun.

Saw this popup when i was watching Wheel of Time last night. Amazon not exactly advertising a whole lot. Surprised is took nearly 2.5 years for a new season, had no idea it was coming out again.

Ep 1 was very meh. I'm a big fan of the original series and this redemption series, but this feels like it has already played itself out.

Agree. The opening scene was cool and different, but after that it was very, well, meh. No real set up or payoff. Wasn't until ep 3 that I even felt like they were setting up an actual con.

I enjoyed this week's episode. Somewhat predictable and definitely timely with today's world.

I think I figured out the difference between the original and Redemption, for me anyway. I feel like the original was more about the cons. Redemption is more about the characters. Doesn't make it bad, just different.

This week's episode was very enjoyable. Good con despite not the whole team being there.

The return of Tara from the original series, attempted revenge by Blye from earlier in Redemption
