What is up with him being a FA. He's a former first rounder who didn't exactly dissappoint. Why is he a FA? Isn't he the guy that got in the Casino fight with Joey Porter? Is he a character risk?

He got mugged and cheap-shotted by Porter. I haven't heard of any character problems at all.

However, Jared Allen schooled him badly (and I mean badly) early in the 2007 season and Jones really hasn't been much good since then.

He's had his share of knee problems. At one time, he's was one of the better LT's in the game, but his effectiveness dropped significantly and quickly. He hasn't been the same after the last injury. For a while, he was campaigning to get out of Cincinnati-he got his wish.

Offensive tackle seems like one of those positions (along with CB, DE) where a guy has a dominant season or two, builds up a huge rep, then he returns to mediocrity but the big name remains, and he's perenially overrated. Like Jonathan Ogden and Orlando Pace. In the end, the success of a O-lineman has most to do with the play of the rest of his team, moreso than most other positions.

He has health issues. Can he even pass a physical right now? If not, then that is probably why teams are staying away for now. Once he shows he is healthy enough I am sure he will sign somewhere.

Is that thread still around? God, I was an instigator in that thread.....

Same w/ Mark Tauscher, although I think he is truly done.

Just re-read that thread - man, that is funny. Fished so hard, I got it locked - including posting this :CINCINNATI [AP] - After being released from a brief hospital stay to treat injuries suffered in a Las Vegas brawl against Miami LB Joey Porter, things just got worse for Bengals OT Levi Jones. First, upon returning to the home he shares with his parents and his collection of rare orchids, Jones suffered the ultimate indignity when he realized his stepfather had painted his bedroom pink.

"My real Dad never woulda did that," Jones tearfully confessed. "It's too bad he's still locked up for male/male prostitution out in San Francisco, 'cuz he'd never have allowed this."

In addition, Jones' mother removed all the Cookie Crisp from the house and replaced it with generic brand cereal.

"Man, I HATE that stuff..." Jones sniffled. "Mama won't even let me have my Cookie Crisp. Now alls I got left is my flowers..."

"You'll get your cereal and your Teletubbies DVD back after them scars heal.." his mother retorted. "Ain't no son of mine gonna get rewarded for taking a ### whippin...."

At this point, Jones ran upstairs and into his pink bedroom. He attempted to slam the door, but despite swinging it with all of his might, it only closed about halfway before gently coasting to a stop.

"Man, I HATE y'all !!!!!!" Jones whimpered.

Word has it that Joey Porter has also informed his father of the elder Mr. Jones' release date from a San Francisco penitentary, so that Mr. Porter can whip Jones' father's ### too.

Look at what Cincy has for an O-line. Not exactly deep by any stretch. Cincy just flat out dropped him. That tells me the dude is done.

He wanted too much $ for the risk associated with his knees. My guess would be that he's at the point where he'll sign somewhere if there's an injury in camp.
