Lexington KY guys (1 Viewer)

The Red Mile harness track is the only place I've been. It was a one night side trip from the Derby, decades ago for me. Not sure if they are open this time of the year.

If you like bourbon (or want to learn to), this is the place to go (try Michters). Just a couple blocks from Rupp Arena and the downtown hotels. The whole Cheapside area downtown is hopping, and if you stay at the Hyatt or the Radisson/Sheraton/whateveritisthisweek, you can easily walk to it. The campus area is about a mile max from there, and the nightlife is abundant, if spread out.

This place has a lot of little-known beers on tap and is in the Chevy Chase area near campus. Need a taxi to there.

The Cheapside Bar and Grill is a good place to get breakfast the next day.

Hit up west sixth brewing company. If on the east side, Malones is a pretty good steak right off 75 and manowar, also in that area is a great pizza spot called smashing tomato.

They used to have a club hockey team that played in the middle of a neighborhood but that could be gone by now.

Best area to stay/sights to see for one night?

Couple of guys on a business trip...some drinking...walk ability a plus
Downtown and the UK campus are the only places with walkability. The area around Broadway and Short St downtown has some nice restaurants and bars (Cheapside Bar mentioned in a different post is on Short St). Rupp Arena is very close to this area. Drake's on Tates Creek Rd I've heard is a great spot for after work and is next to Sal's and Malone's, two great restaurants.

Tolly Ho for a 2:00 AM burger.
I thought the Tolly Ho has been gone for a couple of years . Did I hear wrong?
Last I heard it was moved. I'm pretty sure it's still open. It will never close!
Tolly Ho moved from Limestone Ave. on the edge of UKs campus to Broadway Ave, a little further west. Not far from the old place. Still open.
I made many a trip to Tolly Ho when it was on Limestone. I remember this guy bald guy that was always working there. Been years.

If any of you guys still live there, my cousin was murdered there a couple months ago. It was all over the news.

They still have that Galaga?
I'm not sure, haven't been there in a while.

Getting an old fashioned from the bluegrass right now :banned:

I'll second Lynaugh's. Check out Two Keys Tavern if you're looking for some younger stank. Whatever happened to Joe B's? Jellybeans? JDI? I've been gone for 17 years. Bdubs/Sudsy's used to be on Limestone and Maxwell. Good times.

You can definitely get some young stank from Two Keys, McCarthy's is pretty good. Tolly Ho is good late night if you want to wait forever. Pazzo's is a good Italian/pizza place.

If you are down there this weekend, it should be pretty nuts tonight if UK pulls off the victory over Louisville.
