With Linehan coming in, will he utilize Steven Jackson's superstar talents and turn Jackson into a top 5 FFL RB??? Or Jackson's status as a decent top 15 FFL runningback going to remain like he was with Martz at the HC helm?

I like Jackson this year. The rams O-line should be good next year with Barron and Terrell both being in their 2nd year. Also, another reason for improvement is thinkning their defense will be improved which will keep them in more games. I think Linehan is a very good offensive coach who will give this big horse the carries he needs to get things going. If I had to guess I would put him about #6 or 7 next year.

I like Linehan coming in. He should positively impact Jackson's potential production, but I still have concerns about his durability. He's played 2 years now in the NFL, and he's been significantly banged up both years. His overall stats have clearly been hampered by this. Some guys avoid injuries....unfortunately, Jackson is a big, hard runner who doesnt shy away from contact, so Im keeping my fingers crossed that his injuries so far are coincidence, but history shows that guys like this who deliver punishment behind average - less than average lines take a beating. He's got alot of talent....he just needs to figure out how to NOT get hurt. Id put him outside of the top 10 for that reason.

Top 5 Fantasy RB for 20061) LT 2) LJ3) STEVEN JACKSON 4) Clinton Portis5) Tiki BarberI know...no Alexander and no Edge. They will both be overpaided an on other teams next year!

I agree that the change is positive for Jackson in the long term. That being said, Jackson will need this offense to start fast right away to be a top 10 RB IMHO. A lot of new offenses take time to learn and develop, thus a slow start is often the result. Frerotte had already played with Linehan. On the other hand, Bulger will adjusting to an entirely new offensive scheme.

will marshall be back next year as the handcuff? I have S Jax for one more year in my keeper league and think he will be a solid #1 RB - top 10.

Marshall got a big applause in his last appereance in the last game of the year at STL.It is strongly thought by the fans that we won't see him again this year or ever in a rams uniform. Thanks for the great times #28.

Has everyone already forgotten the deplorable way Linehan used his RBs in Minnesota?People blame Tice for not settling on a #1 guy but Linehan was calling the plays and I remember plenty of games where the RBs totalled 15-17 total carries.I credit Saban with forcing Linehan to use the RBs more in Miami and I worry that with free reign the pass happy days in St. Louis will continue.

Jackson is so much better than anyone else at RB in stl Linehan will not go RBBC. In Minnesota he had Onterio Smith, Mike Bennent, and Moe Williams...not very scary.

won't be a top 5 guy.....linehan has a history of RBBC.just check the Vikings stats while he was there..in 2002, mike bennet ran for 1296 yards on a measley 255 carries, but scored just 5 tds..

in 2002, they finished #1 in rushing , #1 in rush yards per attempt , #2 in rush tds (26 - 10 of which went to culpepper)bennett, the #1 ball carrier, got just 5 tds.

in 2003, not a single rb on the roster scored more than 5 rushing TDs..

in 2004, not a single rb scored more than 3 rush tds..

the vikings NFL rank under 'rushing statistics' has dropped in each of his three season there..

he is the epitome of the phrase 'RBBC guy'

Jackson has a lot of talent, probably going to be like he was under Martz, tho..

I am not worried about RBBC, I am worried about a 60:40 Pass:Run ratio.
