Linehan Expects Jackson To Be Workhorse (1 Viewer)

Linehan believes Jackson is primed, indicating that 25 carries a game could be a viable target number for him.

"He's shown to be a mature pro in his approach," Linehan said. "He knows that he's got to practice like he's going to play, and you see him getting himself ready. That takes some time, and he's at that point, his third year, where he's ready to go."
It sounds promising . . . if it plays out that way.

I believe by 25 carries he meant 25 touches.

400 carries + 50-75 receptions? That would be nuts.

400 touches sounds more likely.

Ohh... I know what this is.

It's propaganda for the Bennett trade.

As someone who owns sjax in a couple of keeper leagues this makes me happy but like someone said he hasn't been able to stay healthy with the workload he already has

Linehan has a history of RBBC, so I'd expect him to stay with that format in St. Louis..

Jackson isn't known as a durable RB either..

'caveat emptor' with this guy...

just make sure you have a viable 'Plan B' ready if/when he goes down..

He couldn't even stay healthy with 250 carries last year
And LT couldn't stay healthy with 339, so do you expect less than that this year? Caddy couldn't stay healthy will less than 300, yet where he's being drafted people are certainly expecting at least that many. Heck, Deuce couldn't stay healthy for 93.Don't confuse "didn't do" with "can't do".

I'll continue with the stay healthy theme. The guy takes a pounding and always seems to be banged up with one thing or another. If he can stay healthy he can have a good season but I don't think he will (stay healthy).

LT has in the past. Caddy I have questions about as well. Jackson was hurt multiple times last year. The knee, the ribs, the ankle, the hip. He has a hard time staying even remotely healthy. Same thing the year before. Deuce tore his ACL, little different situation than multiple nagging injuries that seem to be a pattern.

Isn't Linehan's history of RBBC more a product of the personel he had to work with, than anything else?Vikings = Moe, Bennett, Moore & SOD.

Phins = Williams, Brown.

It's going to be so odd seeing the St Louis offense function conventionally and vertically as opposed to the "everybody just get open" philosophy from the past 7 years.

LT has in the past. (Actually LT has been nagged by injuries two years running now)Caddy I have questions about as well. (Doesn't everyone?)

Jackson was hurt multiple times last year. The knee, the ribs, the ankle, the hip. He has a hard time staying even remotely healthy. Same thing the year before. (ALL NFL RB's end up with nagging injuries during the course of a season.

I did a quick scan of KFFL's injury report from 2005 and I was hard pressed to find ONE NFL starting RB, that did not appear on the injury report.

What I did find a difference in, was RB's who appeared on the injury report for nagging injuries, but still played (SJax) ~ vs ~ RB's who appeared on the injury report and did not play - YES, I'm talking about you Mrs Chrissy Brown)

Deuce tore his ACL, little different situation than multiple nagging injuries that seem to be a pattern. (AGAIN, every starting RB in the NFL ends up with nagging injuries during the course of a season - it's the nature of the position)
However, I do agree that SJax has a running style that leaves him open to more shots than some other RB's. In fact, SJax is the type of back that likes to deliver a shot.If he's going to continue with his current running style, I wish he would develop Roger Craig's high knee stepping gait and add Jamal Anderson's stiff arm to his arsenal.

That would make for an awesome RB.
