Lions #1 and Kevin Jones for Reggie Bush? (1 Viewer)

Just throwing this idea out there. It seems like a lot for the Lions to give up and is also not something the Texans need, but would be an interesting trade.

The Texans would have an good combo of Kevin Jones and Dom Davis - Jones the 1st and 2nd down back and Davis on 3rd and occasional series. At #9 the Texans can draft the Justice or Vernon Davis.

Martz gets his Faulk clone to fit what he loves to do.

Kevin Jones is younger tham D.D., but he has yet to prove he is an upgrade over D.D.

This would never happen.

This is not even a consideration. Why would Houston want another guy who cant stay healthy? If they aren't taking Bush themselves, then they obviously think DD is a fine fit for their offense.

Didn't say it was a fine fit, but it gives them a high pick that would net them a stud player they need and a lot of depth at RB. KJ and DD make more sense than Bush and DD.

Who is the "stud" player they would be netting? Kevin Jones? Hardly a stud.

That would be the player they draft - there will be an impact player at #9. I still think KJ will be a stud, but feel free to disagree.

OH, OK, the player at 9 would be the stud. This is an interesting idea but it has about as much chance of happening as Vince Young beating Ryan Fitzpatrick at Chess. ;)

IMO, Houston doesn't trade down below the fourth or fifth spot, unless there is an absolutely ridiculous offer on the table.

So the Lions, who have a bunch of needs of their own, are going to throw away their top ten pick to possibly upgrade the RB position?

Don't kill me for bumping this but I think both teams would have been better with this trade. Bush would be ridiculous in Martz' offense.

True but, KJ would be ridiculous in the Saints offense. In the bad way....
The post was before the Texans took Mario since I expected them to take Bush. I will agree that the Lions weren't getting enough out of it you'd be hard-pressed to convince me that KJ and Sims wouldn't be better for the Texans than Mario.

Stop making these pointless threads.
Right, because trades never happen in the NFL. :rollseyes:Say what you want, but had the Lions made this trade they probably wouldn't be looking at a 1-6 record. Sure, Bush would have cost more money than KJ but they wouldn't have taken much of a cap hit trading him.

Kevin Jones is developing into a stud.Detroit stays put and develops the O and D lines in subsequent years.

hey, guess what? i can conjure up about 5,032,253,169,332,592 trades that would make sense for both teams while i sit on my couch trying not to sniff my fingers every time i scratch my grundle. fact is though, trades in the NFL are a lot more complicated than fantasy trades and that's why this is a stupid thread, stupid conversation, and just generally a waste of thought capacity. and mine is perilously low to begin with.now if you don't mind, i need to wash my hands.

:goodposting: The NFL is not your 10 team keeper league.

Reggie:

64 rushes, 189 yards, 3.0 ypc

39 receptions, 291 yards, 7.5 ypr

ZERO tds on Offense.

Jones:

110 rushes, 474 yards, 4.3 ypc

37 receptions, 266 yards, 7.2 ypr

5 TDs

Jones seems to be working out JUST fine for the Lionesses. As good as Reggie has been for the Saints, Jones has been doing his part on the Lions. 37 receptions vs 39 receptions is not exactly a big difference, but Jones is smoking him in the rushing totals and TDs.
