I'm interested in people's top ten in terms of general inquiry and for betting purposes. Here are mine:

1. Indianapolis - Tough wins, best player in the game, I'll take them against anyone.

2. New Orleans - Would have been one but didn't look so good against the Rams.

3. Minnesota - Top 3 season in Favre's career? One "quality" loss at Pittsburgh in a game they could have won. Best RB in the game. Easily a strong super bowl contender.

4. New England - IMO they round out the clear top 4 teams. Should have beaten Indy yesterday and looks like Brady is getting back to 100 percent.

5. Cincinnati - How can you not rank them this high? One fluke loss to Denver, 4 very qualities wins against Pitt and Balt make them a top 5 team.

6. Pittsburgh - A few tough losses but the returning champs are very good.

7. San Diego - Rivers has really improved the last few weeks and looks like LT is somewhat back to normal.

8. Dallas - Probably the best of the remaining NFC teams, but Romo is shaky at best near the end of the game.

9. Arizona - Don't know which team is going to show up, but if it's the one from the playoffs last year they can beat anyone.

10. Baltimore - Strong defense, good ground game is always a recipe for success.

11. Philadelphia - I was high on them going into the season but Westy and other offensive injuries have hurt them. Defense gets turnovers, but also gives up a lot of yards.

12. NY Giants - Really fallen off.

13. Tennessee - Completely different team than how they started. Seriously think they could go 9-7.

14. Atlanta - Solid team, but defense not strong and if Turner is out for an extended period they may miss the playoffs.

15. Denver - Yeesh what a fall. Will plummet if Simms takes over.

16. Green Bay - Rodgers is really overrated IMO. Wouldn't trust them in a big game against a good team.

17. Jacksonville - Garrard remains a mystery but MJD is solid.

18. Houston - Solid passing game but weak in other areas.

19. San Francisco - Seemed to start the season strong and I still think they can be tough, but lack the talent of the better teams.

20. Carolina - Kind of an enigma but you gotta like that running game. Looked good against Atlanta and I could see an argument for moving them up my rankings.

21. Miami - No passing game to speak of. Ronnie Brown injury really hurts.

22. NY Jets - Overrated in pretty much every aspect.

23. Chicago - Probably the last of the half-decent teams, but Cutler is imploding this team.

24. Seattle - Defense has really fallen off where it once was.

25. Washington - Zorn's days are numbered, but I can see them getting a few upsets.

26. Buffalo - How does this team not put up huge offensive numbers? Looks so good on paper.

27-32. Detroit, Oakland, KC, Tampa Bay, Cleveland, and St. Louis - all equally awful.

Not to focus on the the bottom six, but if you're watching the Monday night game, you clearly should separate these into at least two tiers: one for Cleveland and one for everybody else.

I'd drop the Saints to #2 only if the defensive starters that are out would be gone for the remainder of the year. They won't be. Indy has struggled as much if not more against poor teams and AT HOME without all the key injuries that NO was missing yesterday. 3/4th of their secondary was out.

8. Dallas - Probably the best of the remaining NFC teams, but Romo is shaky at best near the end of the game.16. Green Bay - Rodgers is really overrated IMO. Wouldn't trust them in a big game against a good team.

1. Colts - beat the Patriots

2. Patriots - only lost to the Colts by 1 on the road

3. Bengals - playing very well

4. Saints - great streak but they just are not dominating teams right now

5. Chargers - On a roll with a couple of big wins against the Giants and Eagles lately

6. Steelers - Getting to be a bit too finesse these days

7. Vikings - 8-1 but perhaps more due to the fact they are the healthiest team in the NFL

8. Ravens - Still have 2 games to play against the Steelers which will be quite interesting

9. Texans - Playing pretty good lately

10. Cowboys - I can forgive the loss to the Packers - road game in a hostile environment

1. Indy -- Peyton Manning is the greatest qb in the world and thats enough to put them at # 1.

2. New Orleans -- They haven't been blowing teams away but they're as talented as any team in the league. The defense or special teams come up big just about every game.

3. Minnesota -- Can Favre keep this up in December and January? If so, I think this is the team to beat this year.

4. Cincy -- In the AFC, this is easily the most balanced team. They can do just about everything pretty well.

5. N.E. -- Potent offense but I still have little faith in this defense against the good teams.

6. Pittsburgh -- Big loss to Cincy but probably the 2nd most balanced team in the AFC still.

7. Arizona -- Kind of flying under the radar but I think they may be playing even better than last year.

8. Baltimore -- Is the defense back? We'll find out for sure this week when they get to play Indy.

9. Dallas -- Very inconsistent but they have the potential to beat anyone in the NFC.

10. S.D. -- How this team beat the Eagles with that poor defensive effort is beyond me. I don't think they can compete with the big guns in the AFC.

11. Philly -- On paper, it's hard to believe this team is only 5-4. Could be the end of the road for McNabb in Philly.

I don't think any other teams are realistic contenders this year.

1. Colts - can anyone stop Manning and that offense when it counts? Home field will be huge for this team

2. Patriots - I really hate the Pats but they're a strong team (spots 2-4 are really interchangeable)

3. Vikings - strong D and an offense that can score with the best of 'em

4. Bengals - playing suprisingly well, good D, good running game and a QB that win games when necessary

5. Saints - rough game against an inferior opponent Wk 10, see how they do outside this week

6. Steelers - Good team, weak upcoming schedule, should spell success

7. Chargers - great offense, playing well

8. Cardinals - hot and cold, have the ability to score with anyone when they're on top of their game, will they use the rushing attack?

9. Ravens - sinking like an anchor, worst passing D in the league, inconsistent offense with subpar rec

10. Packers/Texans/Falcons/Cowboys/Eagles/Broncos/Miami - all are interchangable for different reasons.

1. Vikings - Best D of the top 3 teams, great running game and proven veteran QB leader.

2. Colts - Not sold that the D can get them to the SB.

3. Saints - They are definitely worthy of being undefeated, just don't think they are as complete as the Vikings.

4. Steelers - Yes, they lost the Bengals I know. But in the playoffs, this is a different team and will beat Cincy.

5. Patriots - We all know they are good and will score a ton of points. I doubt Belicheck will lose another game for them.

6. Bengals - Solid now, not a proven playoff team.

7. Cardinals - The defense runs hot and cold, but more hot than cold. The O is always hot.

8. Texans - Can score points on anyone. Defense is suspect

9. Chargers - Hard to argue with latest wins, but prone to big letdowns.

10. Cowboys - Also prone to huge letdowns as witnessed this week. Should win the NFC east, but not guaranteed.

Eagles, Giants, Packers, Falcons, Broncos, Ravens, and even the Panthers could make some noise, but for now this is mine.

I question how you can have the saints at #4 for "not dominating teams" and have the colts at #1 when they're last 3 games have been;SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS 18 - 14 W HOUSTON TEXANS 20 - 17 W NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 35 - 34 W I'm not saying that the colts aren't #1. Just that the Saints are interchangeable with them. After all the pats got beat by the jets....come on!

I think New Orleans is good, but gets waaaay to much love solely based on their record. I think they should be somewhere around 4-7th.

bitter eagle fan? LOLSD's main cog on D is getting healthy. Merriman. SD blew Philly out, philly got garbage time prevent defense scores in the 4th quarter. the score was 28 to 9 at one point.

Actually I'm a Steelers fan and I hate the Iggles. LOL @ "SD blew Philly out". Spoken like a true homer. In the 2nd and 3rd quarter, Philly had 3 drives of ~ 80 yards and kicked 3 field goals. In addition to those drives, they scored 2 tds on drives of 54 yds and 77 yards. I'll give credit to S.D for making the stops in the red zone when it counted but Philly drove up and down the field on S.D. after the first quarter. If the Iggles weren't so inept in the red zone, they win that game handily. The Chargers defense stinks and I stand by my claim that they cannot compete with the big boys in the AFC come playoff time. Like last year, they'll make the playoffs only because they're in a garbage division.

Get real. It was 28-23 midway through the 4th quarter, and the Eagles had the ball at the end with a chance to tie the game with a TD and 2-point conversion. Not a blowout, by any stretch of the imagination. That is why they play four quarters.

St Louis- yup. It's overated.
Where would you rank dallas? *curious
Not ahead of New Orleans if that's the angle you are going for.1. Indy2. New England3. Minny4. Cincy5. Pittsburgh6. New Orleans7. San Diego8. Arizona9. Dallas10. Baltimore *Philly-Honorable mention.

beat the colts twice in the last two seasons in the playoffs. :) theyll compete just fine

Rodgers is overrated...but a big game against a good team...like say...a team you have rated higher in Dallas?And...not trusted in a big game against a good team...but you would trust Vince Young?Titans last 3 are nice...but realize they came against Jax, San Fran, and Buffalo.

1. Minn - very solid team

2. Arizona - they can beat ANYONE

3. Cin - I could see a Cin/AZ superbowl this year

4. NE - Strong team

5. NO - Fun offense to watch.

6. Pit - Strong team and superbowl contender

7. Dal - good team with a bad coach named Jerry Jones

8. Ind - overrated, Manning is the team

Yes but Manning is that damn good. He single handedly makes Indy a top 3 team.

Indy is overrated but beat your #4 team that has 3 losses and is a "strong team"?

1. Indy - Some tough wins the last several weeks, but still wins.2. New Orleans - Very balanced team, still promising despite some rough play3. Cinci - Very impressed4. Minnesota - Striking balance, but aren't creating turnovers on D. Loving Sidney Rice though! Fitz Jr. 5. Arizona - Warner + Fitz > Brady + Moss6. New England Probably hateraid but Idock them for the B.B. 4th down call.7. Pittsburgh No Polamalu means they will slide8. Houston I respect the offenses potential 9. San Diego - Going to hang around and try to steal the West title from a fading Bronco's team10.Dallas - Iffy but Green Bay was not going to be an auto-win just because they were embarrassed by Tampa.

7. Vikings - 8-1 but perhaps more due to the fact they are the healthiest team in the NFL
The Vikings have been without Antoine Winfield since they played Baltimore weeks ago, and their passing D has actually stepped up and held ground. They haven't been hit too bad though. I think their record is more reflective of the overall weakness of schedule they've played. The Vikings definitely have a lot of ground to cover if they want to contend past the divisional round in the playoffs against quality opponents, but I still can't rank them 7th overall in the league right now.

Well...Winfield was never known as a great cover guy...so its not a surprise that the passing D has held ground or stepped up.But still...one injury is hardly a cause to say they are not one of the healthiest.Healthier than a few of those top teams who are very beat up in the 2ndary (most notably NO and Indy).Though...I would not put Minny any lower than #3 right now.

LOLso it was 28 to 9 at the start of the 4th quarter no?Prevent D time, philly actually gets into the endzone.SD then goes on a nearly 7 minutes FG drive to ice the game and go up by 8. Philly got the ball back with 24 seconds for hail mary time. big dealWhere was this great Philly D? not to mention Philly has lost to Oakland of all teams. NFC east as awhole, very over rated.

What if Philly would have blocked the FG at the end and returned it for a touchdown, to win the game? Would you have said, "Well, the Chargers kicked their asses, but the Eagles came back and scored enough points in garbage time to win the game?" Of course not. The Chargers were in complete control of the game through three quarters, but the Eagles got back in it and made it a close game. Heck, the Eagles even outgained the Chargers by over 130 yards, as well as having more first downs. Big deal. The Chargers won the game, so I am not sure why you feel the need to overstate their case.

How do you guys not have New Orleans at 1 or 2 or at the very least 3??
Because even though they are 9-0, they are barely eeking out wins over the likes over the Dolphins and Rams. There is a valid concern here because history shows there have been some teams that look all-universe in the first half of the year and then come back down to earth. The 1986 Jets comes to mind. They opened the season 10-1 and were absolutely demolishing teams. Everyone was predicting a Jets-Giants super bowl. Then in their last 5 games they completely fell apart. They went 0-5 and were getting blown out in every game. They became the first team (only team?) to lose their last 5 games and still make the playoffs. Then in the wild card game they destroy the Chiefs by 20 points. Then they go to Cleveland and are up by 10 with 2 minutes to go. Everyone was expecting a Jets-Broncos AFC title game and the Jets probably would have been favored. Then the Browns had a miracle rally and scored 10 points in the final 2 minutes to tie and then win in double OT.

Colts-Till someone beats them they stay there

Saints- till someone beats them they stay there

Bengals- swept the Champs that is for real

Vikings-Farve has this team believing

Patriots- Should have beat the Colts Brady makes this team dangerous

Cardinals-they are quietly making some noise

Pittsburgh- surprising loss at home drops them

Dallas- loss to GB hurt them but 1-1 on the road vs Phil GB is not terrible

SD- beating Phil was a nice step but I still do not believe in this team, a win this week in Denver and we can talk

Phil- I know they have loss their last 2 but this team is a second half team watch

1 - Saints - Best all around team

2 - Colts - 2nd best all around team

3 - Minny - 3rd best all around team

4 - NE - despite the idiot coach, this team should be 7-2

5 - Cincy - they beat Pitt twice- think they do in in January?

6 - Pitt - cincy had their number but I think third times a charm, still a well rounded team but without Troy the D is just "good"

7 - SD - two nice wins, I expect them to take down Denver this week and control the division

8 - Ariz - can pound anyone on any given week, Minny/NO probably hoping to avoid them round1

9 - Balt - something not right, has Flacco regressed? the D has for sure

10 - Dallas - clicking along until the game at GB, still probably take the divison

11 - Denver - Hanging on for Dear life

The Saints went down early, but kicked the Dolphins' tail fins all second half long. That was not a close game. The Rams game was a different story, obviously ... but the Saints are playing with half a defense.Plus, opponents are now "Bravehearting" the Saints, selling out and making double-sure to buck their film tendencies so that they can can compete with the Saints for a half. The Saints get their opponents' very best every week. For some squads, the Saints game is their Super Bowl, and their chance to make a mark (or save a coach's job). See also the New England Patriots 2007 season.

lol only 3 nfc teams in the top 10. nice bias.

Not sure why anyone has the Ravens in the top ten they are just not good. That defensive backfield is horrible. The only reason they beat Cleveland this past week is because they did not go down field. Once you do that to the Ravens it is over for them. Indy will show you what mean this week in Baltimore.
