Little Help on a Proposed Trade (1 Viewer)

He sends me David Wright, Jimmy Rollins, Felix Hernandez

for

Miguel Cabrera, Carlos Guillen, Justin Verlander (or Jake Peavy)

Both teams are in the hunt. He is in 2nd place, trailing by 6 points, and I trail him by .5 point.

Is going from Guillen to Rollins and Cabrera to Wright (I am down in SBs) worth giving up Verlander or Peavy for the unstable Felix Hernandez?

I am thinking I should probably not make the move. What do you guys think?

I love King Felix but I wouldn't do that deal with someone so close to you in the standings.

If you are down in steals perhaps you can try and trade for Brian Roberts. Cano and Wells seem to be your biggest weaknesses.

That is my thinking as well - I would get a bump in steals with Wright and Rollins versus Cabrera and Guillen...but BA would take a hit. That part of the deal seems pretty fair...but the drop from Peavy or Verlander to Felix could seriusly impact WHIP and ERA (two of my MAJOR strengths).

Areas where I am golden - ERA, WHIP, Ks, Wins

Areas where I could pick up a few points - Avg, HR, RBI

Areas where I need help - SB, Runs, Saves

I have been gunning for Utley, but the guy won't budge. Maybe I should set my sights on Roberts.

V Wells is such an enigma. Not sure what I could do there.

I through out a couple offers yesterday -

Peavy, Hamels and Matthews for Holliday, Hoffman and Saito.

Peavy, Hamels and Matthews for Lackey, Rivera and Victorino.

You are probably right, my team is pretty good as is and with the addition of Myers (if he comes back healthy and closing) should catch me up in saves.Maybe I'll roll with what has gotten me this far. Right now I think it is Team A 85.0, Team B 79.5, and me at 79.0. The 4th place team is way back at 66.0 so it really is a three horse race. One reason I want to move Matthews is I hate having two guys from the same team in my OF. My desire to move Peavy mainly has to do with a hunch he is going to break down, but I am not opposed to taking the chance that he stays healthy.
