Live 12 team PPR draft starting only 2 WR and no flex: TE or QB early? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

My home league runs a live snake draft. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE and K/DEF. 7 bench spots. PPR scoring with 4 pts per passing TB and bonus for 300 yards.

I am only FBGuy in the room and people take QBs early.

I will be running DD and will react to room. But I am planning on hitting RBs early, waiting for WR1 and a Purdy/Prescott and taking a Kittle/McBride in the 3rd of 4th. Given that we start only 2WRs I think I can find value in the midrounds (Adams, Evans, etc.). Thoughts?

It's kind of a vague question.

What QBs do you like late?
I like Penix(moreso) and Ward as non relied upon late end of draft picks as backup FF QBs. In one draft I thought "well Aaron Rodgers in round 20 is weird, ok" and took him. There's some good fliers if you go with a backup QB but who do you like as a starter for FF?

TE is usually where you "have to" get the top 5-6 or you're at a big disadvantage all season.

This year seems to be a bit off the norm. Goedert and Pitts have had their moments with the top group and have fallen to reasonable rounds/late TE. You could wait on them and maybe make out ok.

There's a few rookies that their fanbases love.

I remember a reporter on Sirius saying Arroyo catches everything and really enamored with him.

I think Kelce/rookie is probably a good plan. That legend is fading.

Rookie TEs don't typically do well in FF so I think ya gotta insulate yourself.

I'd suggest give a few player names so the staff can help ya work up a plan

Most here at FBG would agree with this strategy. Wait on QB, and let the board come to you. Assuming a 10 or 12 team league, there is plenty of QB depth, even of other teams start taking backups. Don't be afraid to go Elite WR in the first round if you hate the RB value there, but then hammer RBs in 2, 3, and probably 4. I have found there is a pretty big talent drop off around ROund 8, so you can start thinking QB around ROund 9
