London/Amsterdam/Stockholm Trip Advice (1 Viewer)

My wife and I are heading to London for the Cardinals/Rams game on October 22. We've been to London once before and really enjoyed it, but we wanted to take in some places we haven't seen. We've seen Paris too, so we are skipping that. We've kind of converged on a few nights in London, four nights in Stockholm, and four nights in Amsterdam. But, we are open to changes if someone has better ideas.

So I'm wondering, what is the best order to do the trip? We have to start in London, but should we fly to Stockholm, fly to Amsterdam, then take a train back to London for the flight home? Or just fly to all the cities? I'm leaning towards flights for everything because it seems quicker and easier.

Any ideas on where to stay in Stockholm and Amsterdam? We love the water so we would like to be near the water and near the heart of the cities (if that's possible). Older, cool hotels are also preferred.

Any good ideas on things to do in those towns?

Thanks!

Anne Frank House is a must see.  Get your tickets in advance ASAP.  I dont know if you can buy them for October yet, but figure out when you can and buy them that day or it will sell out.

I dont know about the trains specifically from the cities you're going to, but Europe's high speed trains in general are excellent and generally easier and less stressful than flying.  They may even have overnight trains to the cities you're going to which would save you a travel day, but if so, spring for the private cabin.

Look at the flights...I am looking into traveling next summer over there, and was looking at London and Paris; I didn't see that big of a difference in prices flying into one city and out of the other. Especially when you factor in the time and cost of the train(s) back to London, unless you are interested in doing The Chunnel on the train. (part of the nerd in me was excited about that. :nerd: )
