Thanksgiving Day Practice Roll Call

Barry Svrluga reports from the practice field:

Clinton Portis, Marcus Washington, London Fletcher, Kedric Golston and Andre Carter are not taking part in drills. Cornelius Griffith is doing drills to the side.

Fletcher was not wearing a boot as he walked inside the facility. He also was limping much, much less than on Monday.

Fletcher Loses Boot but Misses Another PracticeSaturday, November 29, 2008; E05MLB London Fletcher (sprained foot) did not wear a protective walking boot yesterday, but he sat out practice for the third consecutive day and said he would be a game-time decision tomorrow when the Washington Redskins play the New York Giants at FedEx Field."I'm feeling better, not a hundred percent, but who is a hundred percent at this stage of the season?" Fletcher said after practice at Redskins Park. "I'm hopeful that I can play, but right now I couldn't say a definitive, 'Yes, I'm going to be able to play.' I've got to be able to go out there and be me; do the things I need to do to help my team."The leader of the defense, Fletcher was injured in Sunday's 20-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Qwest Field. He has a team-high 86 tackles, including 60 unassisted, according to the Redskins' charts. Among the league's most durable players, Fletcher has started every game his teams have played since the 2001 season and has not missed a game in his 11-year career.-- Jason Reid

For being out, he sure is picking up some decent stats. :boxing:
For relying on Fletcher so much, you sure did a crappy job staying up to date on game day developments.
:thumbup:I don't have him on my roster. I just thought it was poor form to have "OUT" listed in the thread title when he wasn't actually out.
Sorry if I responded harshly - I took your post for one of the whiny posts by people who don't check the gameday injury update thread in the forum. As for your point, the thread title dates from November 26, which is the date of the unedited original post. At that point Fletcher was considered "out" for the game as he was walking around in a boot.

I should have posted this in here also. I posted in Sunday Key Inactives. My bad, sorry bout that.

Redskins | Fletcher starting at middle linebacker in Week 13

Sun, 30 Nov 2008 09:04:08 -0800

Bob Papa, of the NFL Network, reports Washington Redskins LB London Fletcher (foot) will start at middle linebacker in Week 13.

there were conflicting reports on Sunday.

Initial reports said that Fletcher was out and the thread title was edited by a mod to reflect that.

It was reported soon afterwards that Fletcher would suit up and play. That info was covered in various other threads and in Joe's Sunday updates on the main website, but unfortunately the title of this thread wasn't corrected in time.

any more updates on Fletcher, last i heard he didnt practice wed and is listed as questionable, initial thoughts is that they are treating it the same as last week and he should play against a Very LB friendly Ravens team. My dilemma is that I have him in over Stephen cooper who plays tonight, so any possibility that he doesnt play would kill me. what to do?

he's never missed a game during his entire career. the fact that he was able to play last week makes me think he'll be able to play again this week.

ok, here's a question:

seeing as how balt attacked the edges against philly, and most tackles got sucked up by the line, who do you think the wash lb to have would be this week, if any?

I'm sure fletcher probably goes, but if blades is in, is he really a good play, or not so much vs balt?

With Fletcher and McIntosh the primary nickel backers, Blades would normally be looking at around 40-60% of the snaps as a ballpark figure. The Ravens rarely use a 3rd WR -- maybe 20-30% -- which should give Blades more opportunity. I wouldn't go so far as to say he's a really good play, but he's a consideration in deep leagues as a LB4 type. With Jason Taylor getting some LB snaps and so much competition for tackles at the LB and safety positions, I don't see much upside here.

no, I meant if fletcher was out and blades started at mlb.

normally, I'd think blades would be the play, but now I'm wondering if mcintosh would see more opportunity.

Ah, I'm easily confused. I'm not sure the Ravens attacked the edges of the Eagle defense. McClain is a between the tackles runner and got the bulk of the carries in that game. Rice barely got to the line of scrimmage on the majority of his. Don't remember the game specifically, though.I think both every-down backers (whomever they may be) are good starts this week, including Blades in the seemingly unlikely event he goes for Fletcher.

Redskins | Fletcher questionable for Week 15

Fri, 12 Dec 2008 12:38:16 -0800

Ryan O'Halloran, of The Washington Times, reports Washington Redskins LB London Fletcher (foot) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 12. He is listed as questionable for the team's Week 15 game but is expected to play.

Basically the same thing we've seen the last two weeks, see no reason to be concerned.

I have no doubt Fletcher will play, but I do question the opportunities he will have. Ray Lewis had two of his worst games this year versus the Bengals, ditto for D'Qwell Jackson and others, the only MLBs to have good games against Cinncinatti were Antonio Pierce and Stephen Bradley, and Bradley's game was an abomination (the Bengals tied Philly).

In reading through the forums I have found what I believe is a bit of overconfidence in London's expectations this week. I personally will be starting Jeanty over him this week, and maybe Woodyard.

I don't post a lot, can't type for squat, but I do read every single post in this forum (have been for years), and would like to offer my humble and hearty "thank you" to the staff and members for such intelligent, insightful and reasoned contributions...sincerely.
