I may be wrong, but I was thinking I heard that Hawthorne is a free agent in 2011.
If he's a LB4 candidate at the WLB in Seattle this year, might he have some serious upside in 2011 if he signs somewhere for MLB duty? In a dynasty start up, wouldn't it be better to get him this year at LB4 costs than to wait and pay more next year?
Are there any more guys like this (but not just 'backers) who look to be low-end starters/depth in 2010 who have good 2011 upside due primarily to their own or someone else's contract situation? In other words, I'm looking for 2011's DeAndre Levy.
In a start up situation, guys fitting this profile could be dynasty cornerstones on the cheap and be under the radar with the competition.
