Looking for a guide on starting a Dynasty League (2 Viewers)

My friends and I are ready to jump into dynasty but I am having trouble finding rules, scoring, league setups, and everything else that i would need to know, Really just looking for some standards, nothing too serious.

Two years ago started a startup on Fleaflicker, starting a second on Fleaflicker in a couple weeks. Pretty good free alternative, make improvements every year.

As far as platforms go, for free I can't think of a better host.

Be as selective as possible with your owners -- by far the most important thing in starting a new dynasty. You'll be dead in the water within a few years if you have too many casual types / people who don't know what they're doing.

I think the initial draft for a dynasty should be an auction. No advantage on startup.

These aren't just good posts, they're outstanding posts.

In regards to being selective about Owners, hand in hand with that, I would personally never consider playing in a Dynasty League that didn't involve money, and again regarding me personally, enough money to give me pause and consider the commitment. You need to have a really, really, really, really committed core group of Owners, even if that means starting your League off with a smaller # of Teams than you might want, and growing the League by 'expansion' as your idea takes form and you have something tangible to show others who might be worthy potential candidates for inclusion down the road...I'd rather be a founding member of an 8-Team League of committed Owners that eventually expanded to 10, 12, 14, 16, whatever, than start a League of 12 or so where only little more than half are the kind of Owners you're looking for. Having a significant Franchise Fee really separates the committed from the casual, in my opinion...

...Auction Draft, by all means - IMHO it's the only way I'd join a start up - give every Owner a chance to own any Player, devising their own short-and-long-term strategies along the way. That, to me, is the essence of enjoyment of Dynasty Leagues.
