Looking for suggestions on weekly pool newsletter topics (1 Viewer)

First - apologies if this is the wrong forum. Really not sure where else to post this and it seemed like this would be ok. If not, I apologize.

I'm looking for some suggestions on stats and topics to track, report on, or discuss for a pool newsletter I run and publish each week at work. First, let me describe the pool and what I track.

The pool is a type of pick-em pool. Each week every pool member must pick two team to win straight up. During the season they can only pick each team once and therefore must pick all teams once during the season. They also get to select a bye week during the year during a week of their choosing. At the end of the season everyone will have 32 pick results (one from each of the 32 teams). Obviously, the rankings are based on most wins.

Each week, when I send out everyone's picks, I send out a newsletter with observations from that weeks picks. These are the kinds of things I have discussed each week:

  • Risky picks. Picks that I subjectively think are risky based on a long list of factors. I talk about why I think it is a risk.
  • Top 3 teams picked by pool members that week, and any observations around that
  • Head to Heads. Any time we have pool members that pick opposite teams in the same game I highlight that, discuss the aspects to that game and make a prediction on the score.
  • General opinion on the Best and worst games that week (nothing to do with pick selections)
  • A weekly Trivia question, and the answer to the previous weeks trivia.
  • Note if anyone in the pool is on a bye that week
  • Note if anyone picked the Monday night game - as the new pick sheet comes out Monday morning, Monday night games delay final standings for that week
  • My picks of all NFL games being played that week
As the season gets in the last quarter I also track:

  • Results of everyones Head To Head for the season, how often each person won or lost them
  • How the pool did picking teams once everyone has taken that team for the season
  • How the pool did picking AGAINST teams. For example, some people picked teams each week that were playing Cleveland.
Its a long season when writing a weekly newsletter and I am always looking for ways to keep it interesting for all the pool members. I'm just curious if anyone has any suggestions for other aspects of peoples picks, or teams selected that I could consider discussing/highlighting each week during the season, or even other stats you might find interesting as the season comes close to the end.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
