Looking to upgrade from an IPhone XR after 5 yrs (1 Viewer)

I’ve had my XR since shortly before covid hit as I was due for an upgrade and was having battery life issues. I worked retail at the time and figured I’m upgrade before all hell broke loose. Now my battery is having issues and and my charging port is having issues and I know I’m due again for an upgrade. I now work in a warehouse cigar company and looking to upgrade. I’m on my parents plan still (it’s cheaper and I’m saving $$$) and looking to upgrade. I don’t need the fanciest iPhone or even an iPhone (prefer to as I know it better but not against a Samsung etc) alone but definately want something for better pics and video when I go to sporting events or concerts and I also comminate an hour to work on public daily. So I’d like something with battery durability. I’ll be going to my local verizion store tomorrow morning.

Not exactly sure what I want but I don’t want to break the bank either. Something with good memory (currently 128GB plus paying 1.99 for extra icloud storage)

PSA: Yes for those who remember I worked in a grocery store in produce. My girlfriend moved about 45 mins away as her dad came back from the navy and got a job in North jersey. They’re in PA still and she transfered to a new store which is 180 better then where we use to be. I left after more BS 3 weeks ago and after management didn’t do anything about my dept manager assaulting me (took my phone without asking a former cop in the store saw it and told me to report it) as well as other bs. I now work at a cigar packing company (1hr public transportation commute) and way better atmosphere. Absolutely love it so far.

If you like iPhones, the 13 or 14 base models are a solid jump from the XR. Much better cameras, smoother screen, and battery that easily lasts a full day. You can usually get trade-in credit too, so it will not hurt the wallet too much.

My mom gets a discount from her job at the hospital (another benefit of staying on my parents plan) so that helps. Honestly my phone right now isn’t a total loss and I’d like to keep it for an emergency if needed. I can still charge it (finesse it) and the battery isn’t totally destroyed, I just want a better phone right now to not have to worry about charging it constantly.
