Didn't know that. I do remember hearing stories about them burning all the original vertical striped socks when they quit using them. There is probably a reason the originals were torched, they probably should not bring them back.

I would consider Cincinnati at Baltimore and Atlanta at San Francisco big games as well. Otherwise lots of lopsided games next week.

Admittedly, the Pats D looked bad the first week against the Bills. Since then, though, they let up only 16 vs. the Jets, 10 vs. a high powered Falcons offense, and today they held the #1 AFC offense to just 21 points. They're not really struggling.And they're also not that old. Vrabel's gone, Bruschi's gone, Seymour's gone, and Harrison's gone. It's actually a fairly young D.

Atlanta/SF is pretty big. The Falcons need to keep up with the Saints and the 49ers want to prove they're for real. Baltimore/Cin is also big because that's going to be such a tough division. All the wildcards might come from there.

The Pats defense has allowed 17, 16, 10, and 14 points. For what has been hyped ad naseum as a huge weakness, the results on the field have been solid in terms of points allowed.

Washington @ Carolina should be pretty evenly matched.
Also Houston @ Arizona could be a good shootout type matchup.

Actually they held the Ravens to 14pts. Brady lost the ball in the endzone and Blt recovered it.I think the Pat's win a fairly one sided game next week.ffldrew said:
