I have been coaching a little league team and canceled NFL network so I don't have time to research like I want to. Was hoping we could get some discussion about these things...maybe these should each have their own thread, but I'd like to keep it to deep dynasty league discussion otherwise you get those guys that play in shallow leagues and say "I would never own those guys" and you want to reply well try playing in a 12X30 (35 offseason) league where that many guys are owned and it helps to be a step ahead.
who are some guys being added in deep leagues after this weeks games?
Is a guy like Marlon Moore worth a flier until cut down day to see if he sticks? Will Kyle Williams or Ricardo Lockette be in that mix? Collie doesn't seem suited for the X and Jenkins is obviously not the answer nor has Patton been able to do much. What a mess that is, but some good sleeper value can come out of it I'm sure.
Looking at the stats, Jordan Todman looked good and could he be #3 RB in Jax or even more?
Along similar lines, but a guy who is likely owned Rex Burkhead performed about how I would expect him to. I believe he would have been a top 5 back in this class if he didn't get hurt last year. How much value should he hold when you consider talent but no opportunity?
Clyde Gates is a guy that looked decent and had been receiving some hype so far this off season. Does he have a shot to start across from Hill? How will the Jet depth chart sort out?
Jerome Simpson is unowned in a few leagues and may have starting gig for now. He looked good on one reception and then another was thrown too far in front and he tipped to a pick. He seemed to have the spring back in his step. He's a free agent after this year so he could always catch on somewhere else. Is he worth an add? Has Stephen Burton (6-2 220 4.4 wheels) developed to where he could compete with Jarius Wright or Simpson for playing time?
Is Kevin Ogletree the 3rd WR in Tampa or did Owusu do enough to keep that chase alive? Reports out of camp were that Owusu was playing very well and he had a decent stat line.
Is Tandon Doss the WR3 in Baltimore? Deonte dinged and Doss went in anyways. Does he have what it takes to unseat Jacoby? Doss is likely owned in most dynasty leagues, but I couldn't move him for a 5th so maybe not. While he didn't catch any balls, the way he was used is encouraging.
Can Ronnie WIngo be the #3 in Atlanta? How did he actually look on tape? Was it against the scrubs?
Furthermore does Drew Davis have value as a guy who would replace Julio or Roddy if they went down?
Is Chase Cofffman not Toilolo the heir apparent to Gonzo?
Why didn't Benny Cunningham get any carries?
Who is the handcuff for T Rich? Lewis seems to be wrapping it up, but does Ogbonnaya have a chance? Will Hardesty be cut?
Is Evan Royster going to have a job thru September? Helu has looked incredible and they drafted 2 rookies.
Do the Chargers really believe Ronnie Brown can still play? Seems like Michael Hill should get a crack there.
Who will be the Lions 4th WR: Patrick Edwards, Schilens, Durham, Mike Thomas or Matt Willis? With those younger guys emerging is Burleson's roster spot safe?
Is Mike Brown a potential sleeper with Blackmon looking like a knucklehead and MoMass not impressing?
While Harvin is out who is the WR4 in Seattle? Chris Harper? or a veteran like one of Stephen Williams or Jermaine Kearse? Has Harper been overdrafted?
Will Daniel Thomas be cut in favor of Gillisee and Jonas Gray? Remember Gray was thought of highly prior to tearing up his ACL at Notre Dame although he still looks to be recovering explosiveness.
Will Dion Sims be more than a blocker?
Is there any way Hoomanawanui or Fells end up with value this year and if so, which one? While Studfeld is behind them on the depth chart, sure seems like the cream will rise to the top. Ballard seems like he's going to be gone...seems like there is sleeper value here somewhere.
Does Riley Cooper keep his #2 gig with Philly or does Shephard overtake him or Kelly rely on the Damaris Johnson? Is there any chance Salas of Momah gets involved with that mess?
What happened to Dennis Johnson and has Cierre Wood moved far ahead in that battle? Does Deji Karim have any chance to win the 3rd gig (we hope not).
Did the Texans give up on Lestar Jean too early or is this just his usual time to shine? Kid has fooled me before.
Is Sean Payton stuck in thinking that he needs a speedster as his WR3? Is Nick Toon's only value as the heir apparent to Colston? Could Preston Parker get in that mix? (remember he's looked good in Tampa) Who is Andy Tanner?
Will Jonathan Baldwin ever emerge? Does Devon Wylie have any value left or is it time to pull the plug? Junior Hemmingway (6-1 225 4.5) has shown flashes this off season, but seems to be flying under radar. Have to figure the Chiefs will be chucking it around so there is value to be found somewhere.
Does Knile Davis have the #2 job sewn up in KC or will Draughn or Cy Gray take advantage of his butter fingers?
Is this the year that Armanti Edwards lives up to his draft position? All reports are that he's had a great camp and Lafell hasn't exactly set the world on fire as the #2 WR. Similarly David Gettis put up some numbers and he's always had talent, but was set back by ACL tear 2 years ago.
Will little known Joe Anderson be able to hold off Marquess Wilson for WR4 duties in Chicago? Anderson(6-1 200 with 4.45ish speed and 40" hops) proved himself last year and had been lighting up camp, but Wilson looked good in preseason game.
Who emerges as Arizona's 4th WR? Charles Hawkins or Jaron Brown? Anyone know anything about either?
Is Jarret Boykin locked in at 4th WR for Green Bay or does Jeremy Ross have a shot to unseat him? Anyone else out of their camp likely to challenge for that job? With Jordy constantly down, this may have value...
Is it time to give up on Jacoby Ford and welcome Andre Holmes, Juron Criner, or Brice Butler to the party? I have concerns about Moore as well, so this could be an interesting situation. If I had to pick one it would be that the light with Holmes has gone on, but he has to sit out 4 games so it makes it hard to carry him through.
Who will the TE be for Oakland? If I had to guess I'd say Ausberry, but Kasa & Rivera have some upside. A year ago, nobody was talking about Brandon Myers so a similar situation could develop.
