Lottery Ticket RBs as of Week 5 (1 Viewer)

Tate, Pierce, and Bryce Brown headlined the list of lottery ticket-type handcuffs going into the season.

However, Tate's recent stock seems to have cooled and Foster has wrestled away more carries from him. Baltimore's run game is underwhelming and in Philly Polk, not Brown, may be the handcuff to McCoy.

Who would you say are the must-stash handcuffs as of week 5 this year?

Joique Bell has definitely proven himself and is even a flex, esp. in bye weeks.

Tate

Pierce

Brown or Polk

Turbin or Michael

Hunter or James

Randle or Dunbar

K. Davis

Reece or Jennings

etc.

Rashad Jennings (assuming DMac is out)

Blount - esp in TD leagues as it looks like Ridley won't play

Bolden - esp in PPR leagues for same reason

(yeah, BB warning - good luck figuring out who gets more carries or res zone opportunities)

I don't think we'll see too many lottery tickets play out. Jennings is junk. The Rams RB's are junk. The obvioius ones are offenses that run the ball well. Seattle, Philly, San Francisco, Houston. The backups would do well if the starter gets injured. What I think we'll see is some of the RB's that have done nothing so far will start to produce. Find the right one - that's your lottery ticket.

Joique Bell isn't a lottery ticket. He is already getting cashed. After week 4, he was the 8th highest scoring RB in average points per week in FFPC scoring. In other words, he has proven to be a #1 RB through the 1st quarter of the year.

He is a flex regardless of whether Bush is starting. The Detroit RB's are getting a ton of usage/passes.

*Johnathan Franklin* - Starks' knee is messed up. Lacy is another concussion away from riding the pine for an extended period. Or get a regular injury.

Ellington - should be owned in every league

Kendall Hunter - could be HUGE if Gore goes down

Goodson - Ivory is always dinged. Powell isn't all that and a bag of chips

Todman - probably limited upside in that horrible O

Donald Brown - Bradshaw is done. If Richardson got injured...
Any backup if any starter got injured, looks like what you are going for from your string of posts.

Why stop there though? Michael if Lynch got hurt. Davis if Charles got hurt, Gerhart if ADP got hurt. lol

I think the goal here is to find those lottery tickets where it wouldn't be a committee if the starter went down.

I'm thinking Tate tops the list.

Others I like:

Hunter

Pierce

Joique

Bryce

Seattle is murky with Turbin and Michael.

Interested in:

Dunbar

Franklin

Zac Stacy is probably most likely to be anointed the starter if he looks good. If not next week, in the near future.

If you want to handcuff Lynch, or for some reason think he will get hurt, Michael is the player to have.

Someone in my league is so desperate at RB they are starting Lacy AND Franklin.

Hunter is the one you want in case of Gore injury.

There may be more.

Donald Brown - Bradshaw is done. If Richardson got injured...

Not really a helpful. We're discussing lottery RBs. I mentioned more than just 2nd string guys. And I didn't mention several because I don't believe they'd be productive (Eg Gerhart).
