Fight The Power
I waited until my last pick to take a 2nd basemen. Wondering which of these guys you would go with.

thanks

If Rickie Weeks stays healthy, I think he's a top 4 second baseman this year.

Polanco and Johnson are waiver wire fodder.

Option D (if available)Sean RodriguezIf not then Weeks.
Rodriguez is available What do you like about him?
he's better than all those options and in a comparable if not better lineup.
Just noticed Rodriguez is listed as OF in yahoo guess he wont work.

He should get 2B eligibility in the first week, maybe second. But don't let the guys here downtalk Kelly Johnson. He could legitimately have a good year with the DBacks.

In my points league, Kelly Johnson was a top 10 2B in both 2007 and 2008. Had a down year last year, but he's moved from a terrible park for lefties to one of the best in baseball and it's foolish to consider him waiver wire anything. If he gets back to the patience that made him successful, he'll bounce back nicely.I'll take a healthy Rickie Weeks over Sean Rodriguez any day of the week, and his upside is well within the top 10 if he gets 550 ABs. Will he? Well, he's only 27, so he's got plenty of time left to shake the injury label. Rodriguez has power but his K's will catch up to him when it really matters. He's just the flavor of 2010 spring training.

The guy I drafted was Kelly Johnson. So I guess I will give him a couple weeks and see what happens. But I will keep eye on the other guys. Thanks for your thoughts.

considering he's never played more than 129 games in a season, he'll be hard pressed to be top 10
no denying that.....but, in 118 games he's shown 16 homer/25 sb numbers...he has a decent batting eye, and has just turned 27.Weeks lifetime obp > Johnson, he has more power, and much more speed - plus he hits at the top of the lineup with guys like Braun and Fielder hitting behind him.Polanco is 35, has not hit more than 10 home runs in 7 years, has not stolen more than 10 bases in 7 years, and unless you're in a ba league, really shouldn't be considered in anything other than an NL only league.Sean Rodriguez is an interesting prospect, but I'd still take Weeks over him. The only knock on Weeks is an injury history (legitimate 20 homer power, 80%+ steal success rate, top of the lineup guy).

Kelly Johnson is tearing the cover off the ball. :X I don't need no stinking help at 2nd base. :pickle:

Interestingly, all those options would have worked (at least for April).
Johnson left the game last night with back pain
