LT-Buy, Hold, or Sell (1 Viewer)

LT right now is like a piece of real estate property. His value is too low to sell him, and on the flip side the asking price will be too high to buy him, thus you hold tight. However, just like a piece of property, depends on who is currently the owner. Some might be desperate, and can't ride out the downturn. They can be persuaded to sell cheap. Others might be OK to ride out the downturn, thus they won't be persuaded too easily, though everyone has a price.

For me personally, in the 1 league I own him in, I'm definitely holding. Vultures are circling, putting put garbage proposals, and laughing at the counters, which I must admit are a bit absurd. For anyone that believes that he is not going to produce to atleast a top 10 clip, you are all delusional. This guy with his eyes closed will get top 10, and it isn't like there are 10 others rbs out there putting up Turner numbers either. The playing field is fairly flat, even MBIII and Sjax aren't blowing up, Westy is hurt, AD is not going nuts etcetcetc...

HOLD!

LTforADPThe first owner has agreed to do that deal, I'm still talking with the Peterson owner.
I am working with the ADP owner myself in a keep 4 league. I was glad ADP crapped on MNF; maybe the guy will sell.

:goodposting: What he said.

This guy's done----trade him. That toe is getting worse as I speak. Do the math.
Out of curiosity, I'm wondering if you (or any of the other owners who have made similar comments) have actually owned LT and traded him. If so, what did you get for him?I think it's probably harder for those of us in a dynasty league to sell. I'd love to actually sell high on a guy, but I can't forget two years ago when he almost single-handedly won me the title. I'm sure that LT isn't coming back, but anybody else experiencing the same thing?

Was just offered Bush for LT in a PPR Dynasty keep 5 league. Also next year Bush would count as a 3rd rounder and LT a 1st. As edwardcat just stated, hard to let him go.

in the spring, i traded lt and leon for gore, porter, foster and a 08 1st rd pick that became hardy. i missed on porter so far as i figured he could transition to jax. took a 07 backfield of lt, macgahee, and lj to a 08 backfield of gore, turner, cjohnson and lj. ppr league that is real competetive.

I was fortunate to trade LT for Reggie Bush after Week 4.

Both owners have different crystal balls, I guess. But I don't like a TOE injury ... always seems to linger longer than expected.

At the end of the season, I might be a GENIUS ... and I might be a DOOFUS (hold your comments! LOL), but I'm kinda hoping for the former!

Sold him, the deal was:

Keeper League

LT/Bowe/'09 2nd rounder

for

Lynch/Steve Smith/'09 1st rounder

Let's be realistic. He's hurt and playing through injury.

Keeper league-looking forward to next year, he is at worst a RB2.

Redraft leagues - he is playing like a low end RB1, safe RB2

When he gets healthy, he will be better. WHo do you trade for LT? If you can get AD, go get him...otherwise, every other RB carries risk and not nearly the upside.

Good luck

RedraftI own LT + Sproles:I just completed the following:LT, Sproles, Z. Millerfor R. Grant, T. Holt, A. BradshawI have B. Jacobs and Ward, hence my need for Bradshaw.I realize this is selling very low.But I just like Grant's upside to LT's for this season. This is hard for me to type, but after much thought, I believe it. Grant gets healthy, while L.T. readily admits his toe won't be right for 3+ weeks. Aside from LT being dinged, SD run blocking has been average this year, not it's elite self.I know people will question that, but I think both Grant and Holt can produce top 10 from here on out.Rams offense gets Bulger back, and Haslett will get Holt the ball in some fashion. Holt is NOT done.I tried gettin ADP, Gore, Addai and S-Jax, but came up short offering both LT & Sproles.

I would take that in a heartbeat. Bush is gold in PPR and just costing you a 3rd rounder next year is huge.

I was offered LT for Grant, Calvin and Jennings. I'm thinking I'll counter with OchoCinco instead of Jennings.

I am thinking about trading for LT. I have watched the SD games and he doesn't look right at all....but what I'm giving up I think its worth the risk. Addai/Driver for LT/Rice. I own Sproles so I'd be covered if LT sits for any length. Addai isn't tearing it up so I'm thinking it worth the shot to buy LT. He won me two titles last year so I have a soft spot for him and want to believe he will turn it around quickly. I'm so confused.

The guy is still arguably one of the top talents in the league. Everyone is panicking. I think it would be in everyone's best interest if they rest him for a week, but they cannot because they keep losing. I think he will finish as a Top 10 RB. The big 4 are all not doing great...LT, ADP, Westy and Sjax. Not the best of years to have a top 4 pick.

Offered: S. Jackson, MJD and S. Smith for LT, D. Williams, and Edwards

Should I take it? I have LT but hate to trade him.

Just a thought, but if they keep losing they will shut him down.

Re-draft, no PPR, I have an offer of Forte, Slaton, Colston, Hester for LT, Burress, Chambers. My RB's right now are LT, Deangelo, Selvin, and Dunn, so I feel like I really need some help in the RB department. Do people think this is a good deal?

I think you're robbing the guy. I'd do it ASAP.And people will be covered if they bench LT and start Sproles but the problem right now is if LT keeps rolling out there but hardly does anything.

i just traded FOR LT....these are the players involved

Boldin, Anquan WR ARI - Traded from the walking wounded

Johnson, Rudi RB DET - Traded from the walking wounded

Lewis, Jamal RB CLE - Traded from the walking wounded

Warner, Kurt QB ARI - Traded from the walking wounded

Parker, Willie RB PIT - Traded from Aqua Assassins

Rivers, Philip QB SD - Traded from Aqua Assassins

Sproles, Darren RB SD - Traded from Aqua Assassins

Tomlinson, LaDainian RB SD - Traded from Aqua Assassins

I've just been offered Bush/P. Manning/Meachem for LT/Big Ben/Cotchery.

PPR + we get points for returns.

I don't like the WR, but I think I can cover that. Tempting...

LT is reportedly nearing full health. I still have the Turner/Desean Jackson/7th for LT/Lloyd trade on the table but an very hesitant to make the trade considering LT's easy schedule. My gut says to stick with LT.

Where did you hear this? Everything I've seen say he re-aggravated the toe last weekend.

THE NEWS

LaDainian Tomlinson missed practice Wednesday, but noted that he is "close to getting back to where he wants to be physically," according to the Chargers' official website.

Our View

He should be fine to start in Week 6 against the Patriots, and could start to improve on his low 3.7 yards-per-carry average.

Unless you really need the help, I would hold LT. I think he'll be ok post week 10 after some rest. He will pay off in the playoffs. When I traded for him, I knew that I was trading for the end of the season, not an immediate impact.

I think the most telling quote from that interview might be where he says (@ 3:00) "the more you play on it... it's never gonna get completely healthy"... and also before that when he says, "I needed the rest today... you know, try to get as healthy as possible (while shrugging and shaking his head side to side)... uh, before the bye week... and then from that point on, I'll get some more rest (itches nose)".
