8 NFL players competed in Madden Bowl 06 on ESPN. Just saw it for the first time now.

Alex Smith (TB TE) beat Santana Moss and Antonio Gates. Funny thing is the latter two guys used their own teams while Alex Smith played as the Colts!



More comedy ensues...

Mark Clayton plays Edgerrin James. James picks THE COLTS followed by Mark Clayton picking the Eagles. Trey Wingo asked him why he wasn't using the Ravens and Calyton responded "he picked the Colts."

Wingo says "Ravens aren't doing it for you?"

Clayton just shakes his head no.

Clayton then goes on to face Chad Johnson, and this time he picks the Colts. He explains himself by saying... well, I like to pass every play. (This explains why he didn't choose the Ravens)

With 5 seconds left, Vanderjagt hits a game-winning 47 yard FG in the rain (Boy is this game unrealistic)

So Smith and Clayton play in the Finals, Colts VS Colts.

The game ends in a tie, once again Peyton can't win the Big One.

Okay, I made that last part up.

I read about this, Gates was pissed because Alex Smith didn't use his own team. But, thats not fair because the game makers probably made Tampa thinking they would be a below .500 team.

The part when he asked Clayton why he was using the Eagles instead of the Ravens was the best part of the show. He just shook his head.
