Madden Cover This Year (1 Viewer)

April 20, 2006 – Electronic Arts announced today that NFL MVP and NFC Champion running back Shaun Alexander will appear on the cover of Madden NFL 07, the newest iteration of the EA SPORTS™ best-selling football franchise with the official videogame license of the NFL and its players. With this year’s focus on the running game, Alexander is the perfect representative for the cover of the most popular football videogame franchise. Last year Madden NFL 06 sold more than six million copies.

guys might take this as a joke but i think alexander will have a down year

he lost the best guard in the league

he turned "that" rb age (30)

his team is coming off a superbowl

he signed a huge contract

madden cover

add all this up and i gurantee alexander isnt a top 10rb this year and seattle will be no better than 8-8

put this in your sigs do whatever you like, this will happen

The one I'm worried about is the fact he had about 420 touches on the season.

Then you must be worried about LT's 409 touch average over 5 years.

He has been getting nicked up the last couple seasons. More rest time though since they never make the playoffs (or very far).

Frankly, yes. And his finish to the regular season in 2005 does nothing to inspire confidence. 409 touches at 22, 23, 24, 25(?) is one thing. To maintain that level over a longer period of time is another.

Alexander won't turn 30 until August 2007.... but I agree with your assessment.Link

This has been dispelled before...

The year Eddie George was on the cover he had one of his finest NFL seasons.

He was the 2001 Cover Boy, which was actually being sold during the 2000 football season in which George put up:

1500+ rushing yards, 14 TDs and 400+ receiving yards and 2 TDs

1900+ yards and 16 TDs

Jinx my ####!

Portis

LJ

LT

Portis

Your new 1,2,3

Wouldn't be surprised if it was Portis at #1 when the smoke clears.
I thought there were regional covers and Portis was on of the players selected too.

:lmao: laughing here tooi agree with chris - an injury would be the only thing to hold him back

best guard in the league is the only truly significant thing listed above

- turned 30 (umm, no he didn't. he is 28)

- coming off a superbowl (c'mon now)

- huge contract (nfl contracts could be for 50 yrs - they don't matter since the team can get out anytime (so to speak); you don't think the players know this?!)

- madden cover (see above superbowl comment)

if a betting site offered your "guarantee" as an over/under so to speak - i would definitely say he finishes top 10 this year!!!
