I could be off by a game or two, but....

Boston 73

Milwaukee 75

LA Angels 77

NY Mets 79

Cleveland 81

San Diego 82

and for the wildcard -

LA Dodgers 80

Detroit 82

AL -

Barring a catastrophic collapse, Boston is a lock. The wildcard for the AL will come from the Central as there is no way New York, Toronto get back into it. Maybe Oakland or Seattle will make some noise, but Detroit and Cleveland don't have many flaws.

NL -

Milwaukee is a virtual lock, although I can see the Cubs (gag) making some noise for the wild card race. The Mets SHOULD take the east, but Atlanta and Philly aren't dead yet. I like Philly's chances better than the Braves. Out west it will be a dog fight between SD, LA and the surprising D-backs. Ultimately the Pads SHOULD hold on with that pitching staff, with the Dodgers following close behind. Arizona is one year away.

LCS -

Boston over Cleveland

Detroit over LA Angels

Milwaukee over LA Dodgers

SD over the Mets

DS -

Boston over Detroit

SD over Milwaukee

WS -

Boston over SD

Darkhorses - Dodgers (will pitching staff hold up?) and Indians (worried about pitching)

:) I hate both teams, but I'm much more worried about Atlanta. That Philly pitching staff is held being held together with bubble-gum and twist-ties......
Offensively I like Philly better. I am not sold on the braves rotation and Wickman is HORRIBLE. Assuming Myers and Gordon come back relatively healthy, Phillies will just have to outscore their opponents (duh) long enough to get Gordon and Myers in the mix.The Braves just don't do anything for me and with Chipper constantly hurt and Andruw underperforming I just can't see them challenging the Mets. I guess I am just more enamored with Philly's offense more than I am with the Braves.

Don't look now but the AL wildcard leader is NOT from the Central division.
NL -

Milwaukee is a virtual lock,
....and a month later they're clinging to a half-game lead.

Swing and a whiff!

Great call. I can believe how much more accurate your predictions were on July 2nd than mine. When did Ben Sheets get hurt? How about Chris Young? As for the AL predictions, it was a guess as I follow the NL..unless I like watching slow pitch softball, then I might turn on an AL game.

Well if you are going to use the words "there is no way" and "lock" then you better be ready to hear it in the end, gammons.

Through games of August 27, 2007...

24 - Boston

30 - Cleveland

30 - LA Angels

31 - Seattle (WC)

28 - NY Mets

32 - Chicago Cubs

30 - Arizona

30 - San Diego (WC)

Tampa Bay is 3 losses away (or 3 Boston wins away) from being the first team eliminated from winning their respective division...
