Making Projections (1 Viewer)

Sack-Religious

There are people who believe in making projections, as this site does, and there are people who don't. This question is for the people who make projections.

Where do people begin? Do you start with team projections then slot people in, or do you start with players and the team totals end up somewhere unknown?

When projecting an individual player, do you just eyeball a number on feel, or use a specific mathmatical formula based on historical stats? If you do, what is your formula?

Do you use someone else's projections as a starting point then adjust?

Do you use a spreadsheet/application designed by someone else or did you create your own?

Start with a team estimate of rushing attempts and passing attempts and go from there.

In order for me to get those estimates I'll go over the past couple of years rushing attempts and passing attempts and see what the situations were like and what might have caused a rise or fall in either category. Then try to account for any player or coaching changes that may effect the number of attempts for the coming year, including the defensive side.

begin with, last years stats like rushing yards lists RBs. Good point so start adjusting IMO
