SD homers.... What's your outlook on Floyd after yesterday's performance? He looks to be grasping the game at a higher level every week. Do you foresee him sliding into a starting role w/ his big play ability?
Eric Parker got hurt. If Parker is out for an extended period then Flyd may have some value. If not, he is far too inconsistent to consider. He matched his season totals yesterday in 3 Qs of play.SD homers.... What's your outlook on Floyd after yesterday's performance? He looks to be grasping the game at a higher level every week. Good question.Lets say Mccardell retires.Who's starting next year? Parker and Floyd? Parker and Jackson? What about dynasty prospects for Floyd?
I don't follow SD incredibly close, but IMO, I can't see them being comfortable taking either of those guys as WR2 into next season.Good question.Lets say Mccardell retires.Who's starting next year? Parker and Floyd? Parker and Jackson? What about dynasty prospects for Floyd?
why not? The WR is the 3rd receiving option on the team. McCardell isn't lighting the world on fire this year with a stat line of 29-364-0. All 3 of those guys are good role players. Parker has good hands and runs good routes, and Floyd and Jackson are monster red zone targets at 6-5 and 6-6. Consider that they have the #4 offense in the league and are #1 in scoring but neither McCardell or Parker (their two starting wr's) don't have a td between them.I don't follow SD incredibly close, but IMO, I can't see them being comfortable taking either of those guys as WR2 into next season.Good question.Lets say Mccardell retires.Who's starting next year? This is correct.By role/position:Jackson = McCardell's back-upFloyd = Parker's back-up
That statement can be said about a lot of teams, if not most teams. At this point in the year FF owners are looking at best for a WR3 or flex player. As long as his ankle injury is not a concern, Floyd would fit that role should Parker be out of action. The problem is the SD offense revolves around LT and Gates so even the best WR on the team is option #3 in the passing game.
I also would like to know this.Any word, SD homers?Any word on the extent of Parker's injury?
Hello? Is this thing on?Any word on the extent of Parker's injury?
Marty said on Monday that he wasn't sure how any of the injured players are looking yet, none were ruled "out" for this Sundays game as of now. The Bolts were off yesterday, so today we will know if Parker practices and or what extent he is injured.Hello? Is this thing on?Any word on the extent of Parker's injury?
blurb on another site-expected to miss some practice time this week but not ruled out of Broncos gameHello? Is this thing on?Any word on the extent of Parker's injury?
(KFFL) San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (ankle) missed practice Wednesday, Nov. 15, but should be able to play Week 11.
(KFFL) San Diego Chargers WR Eric Parker (neck) missed practice Wednesday, Nov. 15, and is questionable for Week 11.
Hmmm, perhaps this will be Vincent Jackson's turn for the limelight eh?(KFFL) San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (ankle) missed practice Wednesday, Nov. 15, but should be able to play Week 11.(KFFL) San Diego Chargers WR Eric Parker (neck) missed practice Wednesday, Nov. 15, and is questionable for Week 11.
I loved Vincent Jackson going into the season but every time he has a game which makes you think "maybe he turned the corner" he ends up on the injury report... I know nothing about Floyd, I tried to do a google search and found nothing from his Wisconsin days that made me think that he was stellar in college, although I could be wrong.. anybody have more insight?
I would think that Champ would be covering Keenan this weekend...(Rotoworld) Malcolm Floyd (questionable, groin) is reportedly more likely to play in Week 13 than Eric Parker (questionable, neck).Impact: It sounds like the 6-5 Floyd has a good chance to see significant snaps in place of Parker, and quite possibly start. We just worry about Floyd seeing a lot of Champ Bailey in primary coverage Sunday.
well that's just funny, creating news from an injury report thereI would think that Champ would be covering Keenan this weekend...(Rotoworld) Malcolm Floyd (questionable, groin) is reportedly more likely to play in Week 13 than Eric Parker (questionable, neck).Impact: It sounds like the 6-5 Floyd has a good chance to see significant snaps in place of Parker, and quite possibly start. I would think he would cover Gates.I would think that Champ would be covering Keenan this weekend...(Rotoworld) Malcolm Floyd (questionable, groin) is reportedly more likely to play in Week 13 than Eric Parker (questionable, neck).Impact: It sounds like the 6-5 Floyd has a good chance to see significant snaps in place of Parker, and quite possibly start. Since Gates has been on the Chargers, Champ has spent most of his time covering Gates and has limited him effectively. I expect the same on Sunday.I would think that Champ would be covering Keenan this weekend...
This isn't a bad option, but it's pretty unlikely in the Chargers' case.AJ hasn't exactly lit the Free Agency board up since he has been there. He prefers to re-sign the guys he has, build through the draft, and shore up one or two weak areas by bringing in bargain-rate talent. I'd be surprised if he decided to break the bank by bringing in a big-name/big-price-tag WR in the offseason. Also, I'm pretty sure AJ likes what he sees from his offensive package. He doesn't have a WR that attracts much extra attention, but he doesn't need one with LT and Gates out there. They really haven't had much trouble getting downfield or putting up points the last two and a half years, so a top-flight WR would be little more than a luxury rather than a necessity. The depth they have at WR is somewhat underrated, and it seems to be serving them well.jerseys finest said:option one - sign a legit #1 receiver, parker as the #2, floyd or jackson as the #3. parker goes into the slot in 3 WR sets.

How did that formula work out last week?Gold Plated Nails said:Defensive end Luis Castillo continues to hobble and will almost certainly miss his second consecutive game with a sprained ankle. No Merriman + No Castillo = L for the Chargers
