I'm headed to Malta for a few days next week, staying on the main island.  What should I see, eat, and do?  I'm a history and museum fan.

Easiest thing to do is book a sight-seeing tour such as this:

I have only had friends who have gone there.  Never been myself.  But find a tour that hits the historic sights if that is what interests you.  You could probably have done it yourself, but since you did not really plan for it, just do a tour.  Talk to the guide and other people and get some recommendations on food and drink.

Go on a walk in the historic parts of Valletta. Relax. Have a quality brew if you can find one. Watch some soccer in a pub. Soak up the ambience
