Disagree. I think there are significant issues in marrying the Holmgren/Walsh tree/philosophy with the Mangini/Bellichick/Parcells tree/philosophy. There is a chance that it results in the creation of the uber-philosophy that combines the best of both worlds, but I think it's more likely to result in a mismatch of talent and philosophy. Like hiring a 3-4 coach to run a team with 4-3 talent, or asking a WCO coach to work within spread offense.I think this gives Holmgren an excuse for a bad season. If next year is poor, he fires Mangini, and then brings in his guy who gets to work with (presumably) a more-talented roster that he has built during that first year.
