NY Jets with....
Edwards as coach 39-41 .488 made playoffs 3 of 5 years
Mangini as coach 23-25 .479 made playoff 1 of 3 years
Herm adopted Parcell's playoff ready team...
Mangini adopted Herm's and Bradway's mess....
The talent today, mostly added by Mangini, is much better from when he started.
Parcells last year as Jets HC was 1999, Herm didn't start until 2001The Jets didn't make the playoffs in 1999 or 2000
Right - Al Groh coached Parcells team in 2000 and went 9-7 in a year he had so little control of the team that he quit.... 1999 was the year they lost Testeverde in game 1 and then were ravaged all year by injuries
But, that team was coming off 12-4 and was a favorite to win the SB. If you want to actually look at the talent Pre-injury like I'm talking about here.Again, just look at the talent - Not sure it's much of a debate at all... Look at the drafts, compare the drafts.
I think we both know that a team's record in the NFL is one thing and analyzing the talent on the team is another...
And my point, Regarding this thread, was that Mangini is not that bad at turning a roster over and assembling some pretty good talent. Wether I was clear on that point or not, that is my point regarding Mangini....
The guy isn't a complete Buffoon like people make him out to be, at least when it comes to assembling talent.... Social skills is another animal all together.
