I don't know if anyone else is watching this, but it's really good. It's a drama about the Manhattan project on Sunday nights.

It'd be better if they focused on building the bomb and not women tending gardens, being beekeepers, gossiping and eavs dropping on phone lines
that's what I like. it's about the people, with enough science to satisfy the :nerd: in me.

I've seen plenty of docs and read plenty of books about the technical stuff

Gotten through 4 episodes. It's pretty good. I'll keep watching. Seems a little unrealistic, though.
one aspect I find unrealistic is the bitter rivalry between the two different project teams, even to go so far as to steal, lie, etc. as though they're not working toward the same goal. is that it?

Yes, that and seeing people get away with stuff and that would typically land them in jail. I doubt the government would allowing Frank's group to exist, yet treat them like outsiders at the same time.

Frank's group was always plan B. Oppenheimer always expected Thin Man to work, so I can see the red-headed stepchild treatment as realistic, but the hatred between team that they portray just seems overly dramatic. I think you'll like the end of the season.

Cool. I mean I like the show but the extra drama seems silly sometimes. I guess that's part of it being a TV show.

Worth noting that 72 years ago today the first self-sustained nuclear chain reaction was carried out on some squash courts under the bleachers of the University of Chicago football stadium.

First episode of 2nd season very good. Surprised there's not much interest in this show on here. I've always been a war buff and had a couple quantum physics courses in college so the making of the atomic bomb has always interested me. If you can deal with the extra drama, it's an excellent show.

I am not a science geek, but I have enjoyed this show. I guess it will end after this season with where they are in time.

They tie in of the drama side is pretty well done while exploring the moral struggles of making the bomb itself. Oppenheimer actually lost his security clearance in later years and was pretty much shunned from the science community because of how outspoken he was against the bomb.

Fantastic season finale and a great season. Director says that WGN hasn't decided whether to pick up a 3rd season yet. Surely they will. Is there anything original even on that station worth a crap?

this was the best season IMO, which is rare. Really hope they renew
