Manning in NE (1 Viewer)

No, I never said those guys were great QBs because they have a ring. I'm bringing up the fact that Manning and his performances are the biggest reason the Colts have not gotten one.
No, the biggest reason the Colts haven't gotten one, is because of their defense. However, that is getting better, and Peyton is allowing the running game to win games, rather than forcing the issue. I think he has it figured out, and if the defense can keep up their end, the Colts have a real good shot at a title.
No the biggest reason is Manning. The defense might be a good argument if he didn't go out there last year and choke the game away vs. the Pats. If you break the single season TD record and your D goes out and puts forth a hell of an effort and you can't even get your team in the end zone once it is you, not everyone else around you. What will be the excuse this year? The defense excuse certainly can not be used for last year. He does not have the mental makeup to win the big one. He was frustrated and rattled very early in that game last year and it showed. When the leader of your team gets visibly frustrated and thrown off his game year after year he is not a good leader. Who was Tennessee's biggest rival when he was at Tennessee? Thats right it was Florida. How many times did he beat them?
So are we talking about he playoffs in the NFL or regular season matchups in college here? He did go 2-1 or 3-1 in bowl games and 1-0 in SEC Championship games. Are you a psychologist or something talking about his mental capacity? I'm not but can tell you don't have the mental capacity to talk football so :bye:

I dont think that they do (stay undefeated). And every year the Pats are the underdog for this matchup yet they pull it out anyway. So there are plenty of stats and logic on why the Colts should win .... as always, but the Pats and Tom Brady just know how to play against the Manning and the Colts. Now I do think that this will be a different game the we are used to seeing. Typcially it is the Pats D that shuts down Manning while Brady goes out there and takes care of business. I think next Monday's game will be played differently, Brady will have to bring his A game, the Pats D will have to pull together and stop the run better, guard the deep ball better and play as a team ... like we are so used to seeing. Bottom Line ... The Pats win next week Patriots 20Colts 17

Actually, for the two regular season matchups (and this is a regular season matchup), the two games were quite high scoring. And close.

It really doesn't matter what else I say about it, because you have your mind made up about Manning, and that's fine. I guess we can sit back and watch what happens. I do know that Manning hasn't played good games against NE, but has had great games in the playoffs (see Denver twice, KC), and had decent games against Miami and Tenn (the two games the defense gave up 200 yd games to L Smith and E George. Hell, even Fiedler threw 3 tds against that lame defense). The defense didn't belong in all but one of those playoff games.

Again, what did the Indy def. have to do with 0 points vs the Jets, 3 vs the Pats last year, and these 2 games, 237 yards 1 TD 4 INT, 137 yards 0 TD 2 INT?If Manning had a resume that included a list of playoff games in which his team lost 41-35, I am 100% with you in saying it was the defense, but this just isn't the case.

I just wish people would stop talking about curses in sports.  That's my take.
This isn't a curse - the Pats have been better than the Colts the last two years. Period. The thread starter doesn't speak for me.This year - we'll see what happens.

I think it'll be higher scoring, but I see Brady pulling it out. I'd say 21-18.

:goodposting: Last 2 games against the Pats, last 2 eliminations for Indy are on Manning, not the D. He was PUTRID in both

I agree that the defense was a joke for a long time. I just can't buy that argument for the last 2 years, especially last year. Monday night should be fun to watch either way it turns out and we will see what happens in the playoffs this year.

I was trying to draw a parrallel between Florida then and NE now and how he can't seem to get over either hurdle. Sorry I didn't spell it out for you.

In addition.

I am so confident that Manning will find a way to choke once again this year, I will take it one step further. Rather than come up with some sort of witty line such as, I love Peyton Manning to put in my sig  if he wins a regular season game lets make it interesting.

If Peyton Manning wins the Super Bowl :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: , wow those words just look funny when put together. Anyways, I will take the best slogan a Colts fan can come up with, Magic Marker that slogan on my bare ###, take a picture of it and post it here on the board, another FF board if its not allowed here, pm it to everyone, whatever.

MARK IT DOWN NOW!!!!

COLTS FANS ARE CRYING AGAIN IN JANUARY.
Same bet for all Pony fans next year, the year after, and every year until Manning retires. Only I'm going to up the stakes. I will get it tattooed on my butt cheeks. No washing off, I will live it forever. Well, I would if he could get the job done in the playoffs. My guess is my butt will stay ink free for a long, long time.

ANd  to the filter not allowing A - R- S - E.
