Marcedes Lewis thoughts.... (Sleeper TE) (1 Viewer)

Garrard seems to like the TE and now with Wrightster and their other TE (Estandia) going to IR, I think Marcedes Lewis has a real chance to show why he was a 1st round draft pick. Anyone else think he has a chance to put up top 10 TE numbers the rest of the way?

he had a very solid game last week.

Thoughts??

Unless the Jags change the gameplan with Wrightster and Estandia out, you can expect Lewis to get top 10 TE targets from here on out as well as a decent percentage of redzone looks. Wrighter and Estandia had a combined 40 targets on the season and Lewis has 41. That breaks down to 7.4 TE targets a game and should Lewis get the full benefit of the absense of the other 2 TEs his targets per game would rank him tied for 5th(with Shockey) at this point. Now that's a big if, but Lewis is a first rounder and the Jags would LOVE it if he starts to excel. I expect him to get every opportunity to produce with 6-8 targets a game as well as some redzone action from this point forward.

360 rushes, 305 passes so far this year. They favor the run, but they definitely target the tight end plenty. I agree with the original poster, Marcedes will be top 10, if not higher for the rest of the year. I'd like to see some more targets in the red zone though. Heath Miller-esque maybe?

I was going to pick him up for this exact reason, but he was already owned! Settled for Sypniewski due to Heaps' issues.

I'm desperate for a TE

I'm liking these target numbers that the TE position has seen for Jax. Even if the Jags roll back the # of TE targets a bit with the injuries, Lewis should see an increase, which could propel him above other low-tier fantasy starters like Bo Scaife or Greg Olsen.
