He's an UFA, and I haven't heard if Az is going to resign him or not. Any chance he lands at a decent team and steals some carries? I'm a believer that if he had a better Oline than he had in Az, he would have done A LOT better. If you look at some of his past games (probably been 4 years now), you could see that he's had some big games, then they brought in Emmit to boost some sales, then he broke his ankle. He was the starter there last year, but his ankle might have limited him some. Is anyone else still holding onto him? Where do you think he might land and why?

Unless the rumors of him going to Detroit and KJ bing out for a while, I don't see much of a chance for him. His best case is to come in as a #2 somewhere, but I could see him not making a roster, depending on what he is asking for.

He was the starter in Arizona last year? And what does that make Edgerrin James? To answer your original question... No. Move on.

He is very well liked by fans here in AZ because he runs hard.

My guess is that he is a Wisenhunt kind of guy and the Cards re-sign him, but he'll definitely re-sign with somebody this year, he's a great depth guy to have.

Update courtesy KFFL:

Cardinals | Shipp re-signsSat, 3 Mar 2007 13:22:43 -0800Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports the Arizona Cardinals have re-signed free agent RB Marcel Shipp to a three-year contract.

He looked good a few years back, I thought he'd be better.

I hoped he'd go to the Giants. I would have thought he'd be perfect for Brandon Jacobs, not threatenning yet can get the job done if need be.

I never got the impression it was his fault. Denny Green didn't seem to like him(drafts Arrington and runs him despite NO production then brings in Edge) but never let him go. He could still probably fill in well if a #1 back got injured. He'll need somebody to get hurt to get another chance though.

Shipp is at most a good handcuff in case of injury, who knows you may get lucky and start him the one game he scores his only 3 TDs of the season.
